About Me

CHAPTER 1 : Our story begins in Chicago, 1990. A supernatural force (birthday horoscope) instructs John Haggerty to form PEGBOY and boost the spirits of young rockers, much like Bill Murray does for "Woody the Wabbit" in "Meatball," The initial PEGBOY line up consisted of: Joe Haggerty (drums); John Haggerty (guitar); Steve Saylors (bass and vocals); and Larry Damore (vocals, guitar sometimes).CHAPTER 2 : PEGBOY endure a grueling tour with smiles on their faces. Disaffected youths everywhere take heart and throw off the shackles of "The Man" after having their spirits buoyed.CHAPTER 3 : Copies of Three Chord Monte are smuggled into the Communist Bloc. The kids of Eastern Europe hear and understand.CHAPTER 4 : The Make A Wish Foundation proclaims Strong Reaction album of the year on the day of its release in 1991. PEGBOY tour with Social Distortion in the summer of 1992. Kids go wild.CHAPTER 5 : Bassist Steve Saylors leaves because his new job will not permit much of a touring schedule. He continues to be a champion of freedom and is possibly the most respected justice on the Illinois Supreme Court.CHAPTER 6 : John and Joe sail around the world looking for a new bassist who can also sing. Larry auditions for the role of Fred in the Flintstones movie, but looses to John Goodman, who cannot sing. Steve Albini plays bass on the For EP, but is too cynical to be a permanent member.CHAPTER 7 : The Haggerty brothers return from France with Pierre Kezdy. Pierre seems to prefer playing bass to being held captive at EuroDisney where he was forced to perform 20 puppet shows each day and was not fed regularly.CHAPTER 8 : In the winter of 1994 PEGBOY return to France to record with their favorite engineer, Iain Burgess. Over a couple of weeks and a lotta croissants, PEGBOY prepared their second album, Earwig, and shut down the nefarious EuroDisney operation for good.CHAPTER 9 : A late winter storm of 1994 sent Pegboy and their van off the road, only to be rescued by Kepone whilst on tour in Canada. Whilst taking refuge, the idea for a 7" split was hatched....
