Aufidena...who is Aufidena?
Aufidena's real name is Francesca Ortolani. She was born on 25th June 1982 in Rome. She's a sound engineer, songwriter, producer and founder of AshTree Records, video editor, electronic repairer, webeditor, based in Rome and London.
In her "normal" life she's a student in Electronic Engineering.

...WHY THE NAME AUFIDENA?
Aufidena is the ancient name of Alfedena, a town in Abruzzo. The name seems to derive from the Proto-Indo-European root oudh* which means "fertile, rich" and probably the name Aufidena means "temple dedicated to Ops", goddess of abundance, fertility and richness. Ops gave the name to the Oscan tribes which populated Abruzzo before the Romans arrived there.
FROM THE PAST...WHY THE NAME VIKING?
I represent the ambiguity, the uncertainty and the instability you would never like to see in Italy and in Europe. Yes, Im a sort of monster. I represent the reality you would never love to see. We are all a bit "Viking" here in Europe. It's a provocation.
She records and mixes her music at her own Secret Lab studio.
Francesca's songs are about her love for the motherland and her heathen religion.
She's very known for her recorder. She's called the Jethro Tull of the Poor due to her blasphemous/damned way to play.
She's also known for being a busker in the tube. She has donated her cd Gloucester Road - 13 songs for the damned to London's Transport Museum.
