Picturebox

Canterbury lo-fi pop.

About Me

Picturebox have been together since late 2005 though the band name goes back much further.
We like strong tunes and rough edges. "Jennifer's Brother" is taken from our latest 10 track CD, "Beans & Bones", which is available to buy for £5. "Hard To Take" is brand new and can be downloaded for free. "The Results Were...Disappointing" is an older favourite featuring the vocal talents of California's Mathew Dutra and the cello skills of Jo Scott. CDs are available to buy online and at gigs.

"Picturebox are great fun. Playing easily likeable lo fi pop, they are the perfect pick me up in the morning. It may be the fact that their EP is called Dogs, but they remind me of The Bonzo Dog Doo-Dah Band. With Belle & Sebastian and Beatles influence thrown in for good measure.'Beagle' jaunts along pleasantly, and is a good sign for the EP. Yet it's 'Beans and Bones' that is my favourite: a genuine classic, with sliding guitars, great vocals and an overall sound drenched in good times.'Jennifer's Brother' is a suitably great final track on their MySpace page, and the potential here is considerable." Ana Ivanovic! Ana Ivanovic! Morning by morning new mercies I see.

..TR> She won in the end. Hooray! After the fates that befell France, Italy and Austria- all teams I was supporting in the Euros- I was worried for her survival. And her general wellbeing. But the...

Monday night was Acoustic Bliss at Orange Street, where we tried a whole new approach to the songs. No kit, no electrics except for Dave's bass. We really enjoyed it and it went well. Ben recorded it ...
