In 2008 as part of the Herne Bay festival, GT Mixtape presents put on an acoustic tent on the first Saturday.
The acoustic tent was a new addition to the Herne Bay festival and looks like returning for 2009.
The first acoustic tent featured some great acts from the acoustic troubadour to seven piece multi-instrumentalists
Some of the acts featured at some of 2008's summer UK festivals such as Lattitude and Lounge on the Farm.
The tent was sited on the promenade directly outside The Pier, which is close to a number of bars, cafes and restaurants and it is only a 5-10 minute walk from the main bus and railway stations.
The acoustic tent for 2009 is still in the planning stage at this time. The anticipated date is 20th August and possibly 27th August. You can leave any requests here or send direct to www.myspace.com/hernebayfestival

The following bands and artists all played the acoustic tent in 2008.
TIM AND SAMS TIM AND THE SAM BAND WITH TIM AND SAM
This band are a fantastic group of musicians who play instrumental tunes to make you go warm and fuzzy inside. They have been played on Radio 1, Radio 2 and BBC 6Music and have also announced that they are to play Great Escape Festival in Brighton and have just been added to the BBC Introducing stage at Lattitude which also features Sigur Ros, The Go Team and Franz Ferdinand. They're sound is largely based around acoustic guitars, clarinet and glockenspiel which fused together produce delicate summery soundscapes. "Tim and Sam make music for the entrance foyer of heaven" Manchester Music, "Coming soon to a Sony Bravia add near you, this wonderfully Gonzales syled piece of Balearic instrumental pop has already been picking up a lot of heat since In The City.
