Information:
the zero five play a melodious form of indie pop with a very British flavour. The perfect music for a dreamy open-top bus ride along the British coast, with the wind in your face, rolling greens fields and a splendid sunset ... Of course, the sun would have to be shining ... but we are talking of dreaming after all.
With the release of their single, Shark Attack, the lads from the zero five invite you to what sounds like it could be a rather dangerous swimming experience! An ironic, bitter-sweet UK indie number, which still has you whistling along long after you've got out of the water. “The 5†have also included 2 tracks with the single which are not available on their long-player. "Slob" is a pleasing mix of porno film organ sounds and old-school British punk attitude, whilst the almost ballad-like "Believe" provides its own interesting character, with a unique, ambling sound. A nice, compact package which really whets the appetite for the album.
the zero five's sound is built on prolific and natural beatlesesque song-writing talent, strong melodies, classic guitar tones and heaps of pure energy.
The classic line up of guitars, bass and drums, topped off with melodic harmonised vocals, delivers the zero five's strong traditional British sound, which is heavily influenced by 1960s beat music but also skilfully blends all the raw energy of 70s punk and the finest elements of the independent music scene of the 1980s and 1990s. This band combines all the best qualities of over four decades of great British pop music.
