About Me

From the time that we are born, we are brought up by our parents to believe in what they themselves believe; whether it is traditional or progressive, people frequently go through life without questioning it. However when someone, like myself, begins to question what we where told to believe, life changes and takes on new complexity that can, at first, cause one to feel overwhelmed and alone.
The beliefs that I began to question over a decade ago happen to be among the deepest held and most controversial beliefs of society, theology. After I finished questioning a few years ago and set archaic dogma aside, I have found that the world is understandable, a wonder to experience, and need not be feared as long as it is respected.
For a secular worldview, I concur with humanism which is an ethical philosophy that affirms the inherent worth and dignity of all people as individuals. It focuses on our capacity for self-determination, and is based on rationality and embraces the scientific method as the way to learn and adapt to our surroundings. Humanism has its roots in ancient Greek philosophy; it was revived during the Renaissance and evolved during the Enlightenment of the 18th century into it's present form.
I would describe my lifestyle as that of a typical college student except with much better food since I can cook. Most of what I cook has a tendency to bite back! I have been adding recipes to my repertoire and enjoy adding new ones.
I am somewhat the shy type but I am overcoming it with success.
