The end? What will become of these creatures now?

RE: The last ever ‘Band(ism)’ Manchester performance! 6th December, ‘Anti-Scene’, Dry Bar, Oldham Street, Manchester , UK . (We hit the stage at 11pm, door tax £3)
As an egotistical poet-cum-singer once sang ‘this is the end my only friend the end!’ and with no further due I’m pleased to announce the retirement of Robin Nature-Bold and thus the end of his audio art project ‘Band(ism)’. With just under three short playful years of playing one lot of visual theatrics against a back drop of post-punk ‘in-die’ flavored tunes, ‘Band(ism)’ will be no more. The artist and Faustian father (of Nature-Bold) Mike Chavez-Dawson whose alter ego works have spanned just less than nine years, has decided to re-format the audio art project with the blessing of his musical accomplices The Space Brothers (Ben, Sam & Crisp). The re-formatted ‘audio art project’ titled ‘A BANDA DA’ shall be launched as a series of selected performances by Chavez-Dawson - all with existing members of the old order ‘Band(ism)’ plus guest additions, mid to late 2008.
Band(ism), was originally called ‘Robin Nature-Bold & Band(ism)’, and has had three different drummers Dave Garson his son Charlie Garson and then Chris Taylor ‘Crisp Space’ and two guitarists Olly Farshi and Sam Hubbard ‘Sam Space’, the longest member and co-backbone is bass player Paul Greenhalgh ‘Ben Space’.
Chavez-Dawson wrote all the music and lyrics of the strange songs on a five string classical guitar named ‘Fernando’ with all arrangements by past and present ‘Band(ism)’. Though he collaborated with Edward Barton on three tracks; ‘Margate’, ‘I(S)Cream’, and ‘Maidstone Mexican’. And also with Jane Chavez-Dawson on ‘Peacock’ which was polished by producer Stratton Barrett and released on Guy Lovelady’s Little bird imprint label to much critical acclaim. They have had the great fortune to have worked with all the top Manchester venues, promoters, press, producers and a&r - you know who you are! Even more so they have supported and played with some of the greatest acts out there today: Wild Billy Childish & the Buff Medway’s, The Generalissimos, The Archie Bronson Outfit, Polytechnic, Bobby Conn, Lone Lady, Duke Garwood, The Nightjars, Holly Golightly, Edward Barton, Norman Clayture, Lord Mongo and The Three Johns/Sons of Potto, to name a few of our favs.
So, come down to ‘Anti-Scene’ in your best threads and give one more round of your eyes and ears to the wonderfully ‘Oxymoronic’ audio art creation that is ‘Band(ism)’ - of the old order.
If you don’t make it, we’d like to thank all those who came, saw and listen to us over the years.
Masks'n'wine no more!
