Live Looping Guitarist

About Me

If you want to miss the biog, and just download mp3s, then go to www.andybutler.com
A diverse musical career, Andy Butler started out as a bass player in the mid 70's and still plays bass in a wide range of contexts. Along the way he's found time to run a jazz band to play his own compositions, has written 2 sets of pieces for classical guitar and played drums for jazz and avant rock.
In 1996 Andy decided to explore the possibilities released by running a guitar through the latest digital electronics. So far the results of this are the livelooping cd and some astounding performances in UK, California USA and Zurich.

Having had a significant input into the development of live looping technology, Andy is often in demand with artists who wish to incorporate looping into their music.
Notable collaborations are with Hugh Hopper, Tim Bowness, Graham Halliwell, Matthias Grob and others.
