About Me

"Rev. 6:7.5:
And there went out a lesser known horse that was mottled, sway-backed and fat: and he that sat on him carried The Magnet and Anvil; and power was given to him that sat thereon to erase data and rend or flatten public property and utilities."
After learning to walk and talk, I grew anxious for adventure and, saying goodbye to my family, I ran-away from home.
These excursions became so common my Uncle would pack my lunch and load me down with stuffed animals. Early on, I'd only make it to the edge of Forest Ridge before my folks retrieved me, but distance was relative to age and soon I was beyond arms reach...
Many have mocked "You can't run away from your problems"; I argue that I'd run from a hungry lion if it was my problem. Besides, I'm not running away, I'm running toward... Looking for a better place, better problems or a way to deal with the ones which keep pace.
I seek adventure, explorers, pirates, space wars and talking animals....
Let's lay the blame on Mark Twain, Louis Carol, James M. Barrie and perhaps even Walt Disney for influencing my supple young mind.
(edit- cut to: adolescence)
At the age of 13, I was sent to the equivalent of a labor camp for bad teens. For three years I lived and worked in the woods with no running water or electricity and only minimal contact with the outside world.
Needless to say, returning to public school was a severe culture shock. Somewhere between the shallow cliques, periodic prep rallies and the quest of resurrecting team spirit, I learned that public school wasn't intended for learning.
A few months into public school, during World-Lit, I announced to the class that I was quitting high school. It was a sudden epiphany found in the day's lesson; A single stanza from a single sonnet of Shakespeare. I decided that if the words of a man who went to ground nearly 400 years ago could twist my melon so completely, and yet leave some of my classmates sleeping, then I was in the wrong place. I took Shakespeare's portable genius -along with some books on anatomy- and ran away again to study on my own for several months. Eventually I graduated class of 89' (with 13 other students) from Oakwood alternative high school.
After school I continued along a wandering path, jumping from job to job & state to state. I've worked as an animator, a lighting designer, a stunt-man in a horse show, a stilt-walker and a daycare assistant.
(edit- cut to: tomorrow)
Currenty, I'm a freelance animator working in the Atlanta area, mostly with Cartoon Network; and it's the best job ever.
WOOT.
