iona Hangin' Out & Havin' Fun with You & Jesus

About Me

I am a passionate Christian. Jesus is my best friend! I have a large family. Lots of kids & grandkids. I used to teach school... your favorite subjects, math and science. I enjoy being around folks of all ages, so thought I'd hang out here at MySpace and get to know some new people as well as connect with old friends and family.... and spread a little of Jesus' love.

My Interests

Jesus, People (ALL ages), Bulldog rescue, Animals, Travel, Cooking, Art, Music, Photography... almost everything interests me. Did I mention Jesus?

I'd like to meet:

All of you! I'm enjoying Myspace as a witnessing venue as well as a touchstone for prayer. I just cruise around at random clicking on folk's friends, etc and praying for them as I go. Sometimes I find spaces that are degrading, I don't stay; I leave and then pray for that person. If I find a space that especially touches my heart or feel led to, I ask for an add.

HERE'S A LIST OF GREAT LINKS:

My other sites:
ionanet

Your Bible on the web.
Look up passages & more.

Music:

I like all sorts except heavy metal (it makes my ears hang too low) and rap (I can't listen that fast). I like country and opera. Old rock is wonderful. Elvis is almost the King, but of course, the King of Kings is Jesus Christ. Have met and visited with Merle Haggard, Johnny Cash, Roseanne Cash and June Carter Cash. Nice folks, great talent... Of course the older Cash folks are with the Lord now. Love the Beatles... I could go on but would like you to stay awake.

Movies:

The Passion of the Christ, The Sound of Music, Amadeus, The King and I, Paint Your Wagon.

Television:

Food Network really cooks! Law & Order is cool. MONK is the greatest... He thinks like I do. LOL

Books:

The Bible. You've got drama, comedy (yes, it's true, God has a great sense of humor), romance, mystery... No matter what you like, the Bible's got it. I like the Encyclopedia and Dictionary. Very interesting reading. Computers have all but done away with printed encyclopedias, though, but dictionaries still abound. I also love biographies of regular, everyday people. Everyone has an interesting story although they may not realize it.

Heroes:

Jesus, of couse, is always ..ONE! Peter is a favorite hero because he dared to step out (not always wisely, but ever with passion) and he was always teachable. John Wayne is a hero to me. His real name was Marion Michael Morrison... The change was for the better. My favorite living hero is my husband Richard. Quiet and steady, he is the kindest man I know and perhaps the strongest.

Impossible Dreaming

Bruce brought the food and I took the drinks to the Giveback meeting last night and as hoped, the refreshments lured folks to hang around after the meeting and do a bit of bonding. They were still dig...

Hectic

We just got home from a nice night time walk. It's been a strange, sort of hectic day, and the walk was a nice way to unwind. We spent almost four hours trying to get my Well Care health insurance set...

Book Day

I have done nothing productive today and am fine with that. I finished reading Ticktock by Dean Koontz one of my favorite authors. I love how he mixes genres with wild abandon and makes it work! Would...

Day Is Done

For the first time in recent (or even distant) memory, I finished everything on my task list for today. True, I usually way overbook my time and only rarely, even before my first brain injury, did I c...

Learning From Young People

We went to Bible Study at eleven and then again this evening... different studies, different people. Both were a blessing. I learn so much from these wonderful young people! I would learn more if I sh...

Wet But Wonderful

This afternoon, we went to Disney's Hollywood Studios, previously known as MGM Studios. The temperature was in the mid 70's with a slight breeze and it seemed to be a slow day for the park, so we got ...

Richard worked around the house and yard while I spiritually recharged at Women's Bible Study this morning, then after lunch, we both headed off to run errands and work on the other house. He cleaned ...

A Brush With Death

Most folks have been snatched from the jaws of death more than once. The near miss head-on collision, the fall from a tree as a child, the near drowning, the almost fatal illness... You each have your...

Penny for Your Thoughts

Our Small Group discussion went well last night although we didn't get into all the topics because the bulk of our time was spent on giving. Not surprising since the most frequent topic in Scripture i...
