Lauren Smith

Born in Yonkers NY, Lauren learned how to ride a bike, swim and temporarily played on her local T-Ball team. She was never very good at hitting the ball and her running ability rarely allowed her the momentous occasion of reaching first base. Due to her uninspired form and lack of competitive drive her coaches had no other choice but to put her way out field where she picked the grass and daydreamed about singing songs... Years have passed and Lauren can still be found lounging in the grass with a snack in hand and a song buzzing from her lips. Brooklyn, where she currently resides has been the recipient of many brisk and manic walks, which have inspired countless melodies and lyrics to spring forth! At moments, Lauren may feel tempted to join her fellow brooklynites as they engage in a competitive sport but she never indulges such whims. Instead she may be off in the periphery playing a game of scrabble and humming to herself as she anticipates the feel of her guitar and slowly sips her luke warm coffee... Lauren sometimes plays her music for people and with people and knows people who also play music for people and with people and by themselves. If you ever come across a short, curly haired, speed walking, grass lounging and nonathletic singer/songwriter, then it is most likely Lauren so go up, say "hello" and join her for a cup of joe, a game of scrabble or the joy of a good old fashioned conversation.
