Swedish Marble has refined their cocktail of pop, punk and new wave into highly condensed, minimalistic perfection. The band takes off in the new wave sounds of the late 70s and early 80s and lands in the simplicity of punk to deliver a sound that is cheeky and playful with lots of energy.
Estimated time on arrival from take off: 24 minutes. Solos and bridges have been discarded in search for an effective and original core, displayed in ten tracks boasting with self-confidence. The debutalbum, »Marble!«, was recorded during ten hectic days in the Sidelake studio Sundsvall in the north of Sweden and the Atlantis studio in Stockholm with the wildly enthusiastic producer Mikael Herrström.
The band consists of founders Tove Harström (vocals, guitars) and Stina-Helene Högblom (guitars, backing vocals), backed up by Mattias Boström (bass) and Jens Höglin (drums and percussion). Tove and Mattias are also found in the Velvet Underground-inspired combo The Charm, a band that has received praise as one of the most promising bands in 2006 by one of Swedens leading newspaper, Dagens Nyheter.
Marble has received attention in swedish radio shows like P3 Lab, P3 Svea and Frank, where an unanimous jury dubbed them "Swedens best unsigned band" in 2004.
The summer and autumn of 2006, Marble's single »BAM!« was one of the most frequently played songs on swedish national radio P3. In the winter/spring of 2007 both P3 and several student radio stations placed the single »Nancy Drew« on high rotation.
