About Me

Hello Kidz of the Freeway!!!

A remarkable THANK YOU to Anna for the photo serie "Il était une fois" and "Les couleurs de la vie".

Actress, Singer and Songwriter from France, I now live in London. I have been experimenting for a few years with my solo performances a new approach of entertaining my audience: a theatrical musical performance!
Also known as +The Enchanted Child of Rock+
, I like to stand between evil and purity. I perform with an electric bass guitar/guitar and write, interpret songs of truth, heart and soul...

...

I haven't been so dedicated to music lately because I am writing a fiction book in French that I am publishing on my space episodically HERE It's called ET CE JOUR_LÀ ENCORE, LE SOLEIL BRILLAIT. I am hoping to publish it in the next couple months so I can get back to sound and work on new songs.

Meanwhile, PSYCAMORE FRUIT is a recent musical project combining my vocals / lyrics and Zilba's genius library of sounds!!! Get your seatbelts fastened!!! There are four demos you can listen to on that page!

With Spring here, I wanted to bring some fresh and light spirit to this page with "The Moon is Still High" and "Shaman" which were improvisations recorded in a forest near Paris, on an early morning with musician Gregor Mc Ghee in the beginning of the millenium.

"Joan of Arc" is a cover of Leonard Cohen and was recorded in 2006 with Shah who's now relocated in LA and who's Prince like funky beats make me jump and dance!

Everyone is beautiful: a Sofizel classic with her primitive screams and soulful vocals stripped on her raw distorted bass!

"Life is The Strangest Gift" was recorded with one of my musician friend I admire so much for his amazingly romantic and delicate touch: David Hurn . His music and words are like the scent of lilies left to dry on the page of an old book found by chance in an attic.

"List of Lust and Lost" was part of an experimental project I had, inviting musician friends over at mine and writing and recording a song in one night. This one see the witty and naughty participation of Tom Mayne from the band David Cronenberg's Wife . Check out their "My best friend is going out with a girl I like"!!!

...

I played solo performances in many venues of the U.K. Capital such as The 12 Bar Club's Blang, The Buffalo Bar's Club Bohemia, The Boogaloo, Nambucca, The Notting Hill Arts Club's Death Disco, Gossips, L.S.E, The Foundry, Cherry Jam, The Tate Britain, Hackney Empire Theatre, The London Hard Rock Café, Art Venues...

As Jungle Records opened its studio for legendary Sky Sunlight Saxon from the extraordinary 60s Californian psychedelic garage band called Sky Sunlight Saxon and The Seeds in November 2005 we recorded 2 tremendous songs "Who's next to go?, "Christmas for the Animals" under the name of The Europe Seeds. My vocals feature on both of these tracks.

I performed an exclusive show for a photographic exhibition by Pep Karsten in Nice called "From Death to Life", in the summer 2005. You can find some of the live on La Peau Douce (SofiZel & Pep Karsten)

I belonged or participated to a few bands projects over the last few years: Cooty Shot in 2002 and The Gypsies in the begining of 2005 with whom I played some decent shows at The Barfly, 93 Feet East and The Bull and Gate.

Sounds Like: pink

Cotton clouds carried by a soft meow breathe in oxymoric universe. Bass underwater or roughly distorted with scarry crow screams... Spooked enchantments in minimalist epiphanies...
