He grew up in the small town of Gorton.
Mike knew from a very young age that music would hold his attention and provide many hours of “entertainmentâ€
Growing up Mike had very few influences, preferring instead to develop his own unique sound. Though, he recalls listening to the likes of Thin Lizzy and Michael Schenker, former member of UFO and founding member of Scorpions.
At age 16 he finally owned his first guitar. A right handed “Jedson Impact†Telecaster copy…“right handedâ€â€¦Not exactly ideal, as Mike is left handed. He would string the guitar upside down. Not the perfect formula for learning to play but none the less he had a guitar. Much to Mike’s dismay he didn’t own an amplifier but soon came up with the unique idea of placing the headstock against the front window in his parent’s living room and “Instant Amplification!†There was no money for Guitar Lessons or Tab Books, so many long hours were spent developing an “ear†for what sounded right or wrong…learning melody, harmony and technique.
Throughout his teenage years Mike was involved with many other aspiring musicians.
His first band at age 17 was with a group of local lads, getting together when ever they could to jam. From there he moved on to the band “Saratoga†1981 - 1886, playing the local pub & club scene. The Band quickly gained interest from Arista Records but unfortunately it didn’t come to anything as the band members decided to pursue other interests. 1989 - 1997 saw Mike involved with the band “Escape†a rock cover band, performing at various pubs and clubs throughout the UK. His last involvement with a band was “Renegade†a “Thin Lizzy†tribute Band, 2004 – 2007.
Mike has now formed a new band..'TREADSTONE'...try and catch one of their shows.....'let's get serious about having fun!!'

From this came his Debut Solo Album “For Your Love†(See Mike’s Blog for reviews on his Debut Album)
With a career spanning over 30 years and a clearer vision of his music, Mike stays busy creatively with his writing and producing. This approach will be sure to continue to influence his fans for years to come
