Born in Buckinghamshire in October 1979 and brought up on a wholesome
diet of Hendrix, Cream and Pink Floyd to name a few, Nikki had some stunning mentors to help him with his song-writing.At the age of 12 Nikki started out on his musical career with skins rather than strings in mind: 'I always wanted to be a drummer but never had the room for a kit.'His choice to take up the guitar instead, however, seems to have worked out alright.
Nikki, now 27, was awarded Acoustic Guitar Player Of The Year by Guitarist magazine in 2003 for his song 'You Stole My Music' from the four-track demo of the same name.Guitarist magazine hailed his outstanding musicianship and song-writing abilities, going on to comment: 'Ability alone is not enough to get a crowd going and even the most brilliant guitar player has to have something that works on stage as well as coming out of your stereo and Nikki does.'The following year, his song 'I Wonder Why' was chosen by Guy Chambers and Beverley Knight among other doyens of the industry to be included in the Top 10 of BBC Radio 2's 'Sold On Song' initiative.In 2006 'The One Thing I Like About You Is Everything' which features on Nikki's forthcoming EP 'Strange Life' was recognised in MTV Networks' VH1 'Unsigned Song Of The Year' poll. 'The song is wonderful as it is, true hit potential,' said VH1.Meanwhile, Nikki has been building a solid live reputation with gigs over the last year at London's premier venues as well as various gigs throughout Europe where he has been wowing audiences with his own unique brand of music. Nikki's distinctive vocal style has been described as 'Neil Young meets with Tom Petty for a drink with Jimi Hendrix.'2007 will see Nikki release his new 'Strange Life' EP and playing with a new live band line-up, he'll also be writing and recording songs for his debut album.
