The extreme styles of Heavy Metal are conquering the world of experimental musics. At least that’s what we think (and probably millions of other people too…). Since Sunn O))) started to combine the lore of drone music with the slow-motion butchery of Doom Metal, more and more bands began to experiment with the language of extreme metal, creating a blend of different styles and tones. It seems that nearly all of them have one thing in common: The love for Noise. Maybe Poochlatz from Israel always had a connection with the darker side of musical expression but their debut record “Victims of self Preservation” didn’t inhale the poisoned air of Black-, Death- or Doom-Metal yet but explored the miraculous detonations of cracked analogue effect units, static-fuzz storms and inhuman screams wrapped into ribbons of barbed wire. With their newest work “Cold Turkey” - which is going to be released on BlackGapDeathTrap soon - things have changed dramatically. Poochlatz must have been inspired by the demented rituals of bands like Abruptum, Wold or Emit. Forging their musickal vocabulary into the lament of reverb soaked guitar attacks, thunderous electronic shrieks and demonic vokills, Poochlatz create an unexpected milestone of contemporary metal avantgardism. ::::PURE KVLT::::’

A great(edited to fit this format) review from Aquarius Records(http://www.aquariusrecords.org) for "Thanks for Giving in":

So here it is, the latest release from Poochaltz, a single nearly twenty minute track, and it's pretty caustic. Harsh and bleak and distorted and blown out and indeed very very noisy. But there's a lot going on, within the noise and beneath the surface. The whole track exists in a black cloud of squealing feedback, moaning slabs of downtuned guitar, jagged slabs of glitched out electronics, everything muddy and murky and crumbling, but beneath this wall of abject brutality, hover strange barely audible majestic melodies, what sounds like snippets of songs buried way way down, howled blackened vocals, distant demonic roars, streaks of sound all tangled up with smears of disembodied percussion, some almost black metal riffing pulled apart into weird blurry buzzes. On first listen, it's like sticking your head in a hornet's nest, but once your head is firmly lodged in there, the buzzing and constant stinging begins to feel soothing, almost tranquil, you head begins to swell, your ears swollen shut, all sound reduced to thick slabs of whir and shriek, so intense and strangely alien. Think Whitehouse versus Skullflower versus Wolf Eyes versus Prurient with some strange shoegazery pop ambient referee trying desperately to keep the fight fair and failing miserably. A beautifully brutal slab of dreamy (nightmarish?) noise. Recorded live too!
