To celebrate the 20th anniversary of the Belgian Waffles, I have started Adeptive Radiation which is a tribute band to them. But since the Belgian Waffles are a noise/free jazz/punk band,we have a greater degree of freedom than other cover bands. The current lineup is on drums and vocals is John Hardwick who I met when the Bloomington band Exo had an unexpected jam session at Landlocked Records. On violin is Candice Beck with no prior experience in rock and roll groups,but does rock out. On upright bass is her twin Nicole Beck.Those are the Bloomington members.In Chicago we have Toru Hironaka, Kurt Forney,and Nate Fremont. Toru,on sax, was in 1234 whose last album can be heard for free at 4boxs. Kurt was roughly half of my groups,is on vocals and electronics. Nate Fremont,guitar, was in Steltch,F.Lawrence Grassen & the Floating Gondulas,and the controversial Psychic Santa Clause Disreunion concert. No single person on the planet is more qualified,except for Benny of Everthus the Deadbeats, to be in a Belgian Waffles coverband than Nate. On saxophone and MIDI windcontroller for Bloomington,we have Chris Rall from the bands DMC,That Bitch Reptile,Piney Woods, and Blue Label.
