I am here for Friends and Networking

About Me

I'm boring and mean.

My Interests

Motorcycles and bowling. Making stuff. Spinning fire. Hearing other people's stories.

Playing soccer, getting concussions, splitting my head open, and getting bruises from falling over my own feet.

I have dreadlocks, but I'm not a goddamn hippy.

Recently acquired some sort of mild social anxiety, which I'm not really all that appreciative of, although it really only affects me severely in shopping malls. Never did like malls anyway.

I'd like to meet:

People who aren't boring or mean.

Music:

New indie dork rock. Shellac, The Frames, Neutral Milk Hotel, Magnetic Fields, The Oxes, The Notwist, Tocotronic, The Shins, Calla, Bonnie Prince Billy, STNNNG. Old post-punk rock. Gang of Four, Devo, Wire, XTC, The Fall, The Ex. Stuff that happened in between. Jesus Lizard, Arcwelder, Polvo, Thinking Fellers Union, Tar, The Cows, Sebadoh, Fugazi, June of 44, Blonde Redhead, Bedhead.

Movies:

Jean Pierre Jeunet films, Brothers Quay and Jan Svankmejer, most things that Steve Buscemi or Kevin Spacey or Franka Potente or fleets of Mini Coopers are in. The Sheltering Sky, which is a terrible movie, but damn I want to see Morocco someday.

Television:

The Simpsons, Globe Trekker.

Books:

Crochet Stitch Bible. Fiat 500 owner's manual, and Fiat's safe motoring hints. ReadyMade magazine. Playboy.

Heroes:

My Mom. Sonia5. Anna Fucking Antic.

Retraction

That whole spiel I did about racer boys? I have to retract that statement as a blanket commentary of all boys who race. It applies to four wheeled racers, and other general jerkholes, but I've met a b...

Minor victory for the mechanically challenged

This weekend I successfully reassembled the Hawk after spending the past few weeks taking bits off of her for the 16K service and trying to diagnose a carb leak. I've seen the innards of a Keihin carb...

Racer boys and Motorbikes

Spent the weekend in rural Connecticut. CT is totally gorgeous. There's not a straight road in the entire state, hills and trees everywhere, and strip malls are non-existent. I'd started out pissed of...
