I am here for Friends

About Me

"People say I'm crazy, they're calling me insane. I grew my hair long to make room for my brain." Larry Norman. Actually I am growing it long to donate to cancer victims. But a lot of the rest of that quote fits. I often go against the flow of things if only to enjoy the wake I leave behind me.

My Interests

Church, music, reading fantasy/ sci-fi books, being outdoors, movies, intellectual discussions, non-intellectual discussions ;) and taking pictures of almost everything I see. If you get the chance, please vote for a photo I have at picture.com. Thanks! Rate My Photo, Click Here

I'd like to meet:

Anyone who wants to spend some quality time staring at a computer screen and the person who first created chocolate chip cookies.

Music:

Just one look at my friend's list and you will know that music plays a very important role in my life. I greatly enjoy a wide variety of music, but the experimental/ bizarre tends to really grab me. Some of my favorite ones have songs here on myspace; unfortunately, some do not.

Movies:

Braveheart, Batman Begins, Monty Python's Holy Grail, Lord of the Rings, Superman Returns, the Matrix. I like movies that take you beyond the realm of the ordinary. Whether or not I agree with their message, I like those which pose deeper questions.

Television:

I enjoy watching Monk, Bionic Woman, EUReKA. Things that make you think beyond the usual sitcom stuff.

Books:

The Bible, anything by Stephen Lawhead or Ted Dekker, Tolkien -Lord of the Rings

Heroes:

Jesus, the Lord of my life, anyone who gives their life away in the service of others, Stan Lee for his creativity.

In my Life

He’s an Unidentified Flying Object

One of my heroes, musically and spiritually, has just left this earthly life in order to be with his Heavenly Father. I was listening to one of his CD's on the way home today BEFORE I got the news of ...

Cleanliness is next to Godliness, right???

Ok, I made a big mistake yesterday. I turned on the satellite to check out what was on. And surfed just fine until I found The Learning Channel. For my viewing pleasure was a show on how to clean up y...

Just a Thought or two

I've recently become a "Dr. Phil" at my workplace. Three close friends of mine are having troubles with their teenagers, and have come to me for advice and direction. I listen, patiently, and politely...

I’m a Hero

Not too long ago I happened to be at a local park with my son when an aquaintance of mine suffered a stroke. I ran from my vehicle to his aid, while another bystander called the ambulance. As I sat wi...

Independent music

I've been reflecting lately on why I like to listen to so much independent music. I think that I can narrow it down to a few major reasons.-It's Real. While I am sure that there are those who wish the...

Victims of Irish Music

OK, maybe I should look into becoming a music critic. Once again my friend Marc Gunn has put together a compilation CD, this time of more traditional Irish music. And once again, I have volunteered to...

Renaissance Festival Podcast

I've been a fan of Celtic music for about as long as I can remember. In fact, one of my favorite childhood memories is watching my father's eyes tear up when a friend surprised him for his birthday by...

Whats your motivation?

"Sit," was the one word he spoke. And quickly, the hindquarters of the man's best friend sunk to the floor. "Good boy!" he exclaimed as he rubbed the fur on the top of his dog's head with his right ha...
