Son of Blue Collar Soul

About Me

Omun... The Son of Blue Collar Soul. I began my musical journey in 1994, when I became a member of the now defunct group, Knights of the Roundtable. The group would then shape shift into a crew now known as The Remainz (Mr. HU, Y.U., I.Q., J. Hunter, Captain Erk, and myself(Omun). Combining the pure artform of hip hop fuzed in with soul music, The Remainz have become flag bearers for the Hip Hop and Soul movement in the D.C. metropolitan area. In 2002, The Remainz recorded and independantly released their first project [The Remainz: Soul School, Class Of 88-91](Soon to be rereleased). Alongside my brothers we also contributed many heartfelt contributions with UrbanAve31. In 2003, I began working with the very talented Frank Diggs of Crown City Records. With an upcoming project in the works, I continue to discover and improve on my artistic views. I like to describe myself as a reflection of 70's soul era, clashed with traditional hip hop. My influences reach as far as Stevie Wonder, Earth, Wind, and Fire, Donny Hathaway, Roberta Flack, Chaka Khan, George Benson, Krs One, Redman, E.P.M.D., Rakim, Common, Elton John, Hall and Oates, The Temptations, Main Ingriedient, Chuck Brown, The Remainz, Tribe Of Judah, Low Budget, Daemone, Rod Da Blizz, UrbanAve31, Asheru, Willie Maze, Ron B. and many others that I haven't named. My goal is to just make good music that everyone can enjoy... simple. I feel as though I represent the everyday person because I am them. I hope you enjoy what you hear, and you can visit as much as you like. Feel free to give your most honest critique, no matter how negative. Peace and blessings... Omun
