Brighton-based (UK) independent record label FRESHLY SQUEEZED evolved from the seminal London club night, CLUB MONTEPULCIANO . The club ran for over 11 years, becoming a "clubland institution" (Evening Standard) described by Time Out as one of the "things you have to do before you can call yourself a real Londoner". They pioneered the emerging 90's Lounge, Cabaret and Burlesque scenes and as the sound and style went mainstream, set-up the off-shoot label CLUB MONTEPULCIANO RECORDINGS .
A series of ground-breaking compilations followed (Bongo Beach, Showgirls & Sugardaddies) featuring the best contemporary lounge music from a collection of like-minded international artists including THIEVERY CORPORATION, NICOLA CONTE, CAPSULE, TRUBY TRIO, MO' HORIZONS, URSULA 1000, BABY MAMMOUTH, FRANK POPP, SKEEWIFF and many others. The label also released the debut album from Club M resident DJ, LEMON , plus a string of sold-out 7" singles & EPs and the work of various other acts.
In 2005 FRESHLY SQUEEZED was established, dropping the second artist album from LEMON and releases from THE VOODOO TROMBONE QUARTET, Barcelona's THE PINKER TONES (live video below) and San Francisco's FOXGLUV.
With eclectic and individual new acts like PRODUCT.01, DODO, STEREO DE LUXE and more now signing up and the ECLECTRIK compilation named one of the 'BEST RECORDS OF 2007' (see reviews above), FRESHLY SQUEEZED is rapidly forging a unique identity...
