About Me

Wynne Paris has been joyfully involved in Kirtan and yoga music for 10 years. His connection with yoga and jazz goes back much further. His Grandmother has been a Yogananda follower since the 60's, his Grandfather produced Jazz recordings with the legendary clarinetist Sydney Bechet. A pro musician for over 20 years, Wynne’s life as a nightclub musician ended the day he was invited to play music with the Indian saint Ammachi in 1996. The Darshan he received from ‘the Hugging saint’ changed the direction of his music and soul. After moving from Washington DC to California, he started accompanying Bhagavan Das and Krishna Das at kirtans and concerts. Since then he has recorded with, produced, and performed with many of the well known Yoga and World Beat musicians, including Badal Roy, Dave Stringer, Wah!, Girish, David Newman, Guru Ganesha, Sophia, Rasa, and many others. He also plays the sarod, an Indian instrument similar to the Sitar, and appears on the Krishna Das recordings Pilgrim Heart, Planet Yoga, and All One. Some of the venues Wynne has performed at include, the Kennedy Center, Jivamukti, Omega, Kripalu, Yogaville. When not performing at yoga centers, festivals and concerts, Paris spends his time in the recording studio. He is currently working on a new cd with producer/drummer Rick Allen (Def Leppard) and Grammy nominated organist JT Thomas (Bruce Hornsby band).
