I am a singer, bamboo flute player and a flute crafter living in Asheville N.C. I Grew up in North East Ohio and I have been involved in music for over 36 years. My first band of any notoriety was "Headkeeper". I started that band with my brother Slippy Dickens aka.Pat in the late 70's. That band eventually became Concept One and played regularly in Cleveland Ohio area. The Highlight being a opening show spot for Peter Hammill. In the late 80's I took a break from music to pursue a path of teaching metaphysics, after time and with the urging from the universe and my spirit guides I turned my attention back to music and I recorded an acoustic album titled PTM in 1994 and moved to Asheville NC where I played many coffee houses and clubs. I started playing the flute around 1990. Around 1998 I started making flutes and have since then made over 1000 bamboo flutes that all live somewhere in the world in a happy home. In 2000 I started seriously playing music again when I had the experiance of playing music with Peter Gabriel and some wonderful Bonobo apes at Georgia State University. After that I recorded my first flute Cd, "Moonstar Over Mountains" and a Cd with songs about Bonobo's called "Salisa Bonobo". Currently, I have just released my latest CD called "Connected" which has many of the songs that I have written about the plight of the Bonobo ape. I also sing and play percussion with Wynne Paris and Groovananda when the opportunity arises. I also sit in once in a while with "Dickens Store" playing percussion when I am back home in Ohio visiting. I also have a flute CD called "Wind Blowing Home". My songs are avaliable here on my myspace page or you can buy the CD at www.cdbaby.com/windmotika. You can see me play regularly when the weather is nice out on the patio of Earth Fare in Asheville NC. or look for my upcoming shows or gigs with Wynne or Groovananda. I am also a supporter of the conservation of Bonobo Apes. Check out www.bonobo.org for more info. Be on the lookout for more Bonobo info in the future as well as a concert series supporting the cause to save the "hippie chimps". I also have some blogs about my experiances with Bonobo's or you can read an article that I appear in about Bonobo's that is in The New Yorker magazine! Peace...wind
