Television:
Q. Why did you request to be my friend?
A. More than likely I requested to be your friend because I think you are awesome! You are probably family, or a fan of the show.. or a really cute single woman. :) Yes.. I am single.
Q. Why are you called, "The Infidel Guy".
A. My ex girlfriend, Gina, started calling herself 'Infidel Gal' after she left Islam (thanks to me). I adopted it and started calling myself, " The Infidel Guy " in late 1998. It kinda stuck. :) Essentially I argue that we are all Infidels and should be damned proud. We all deny someone else's beliefs, faith, attitudes etc.. on a daily basis. The challenge is challenging one's own. That's why I'm here.
Q. Where can I hear the Infidel Guy?
A. Live with The Infidel Guy every Thursday @ 8PM ET. Topics are usually posted at Infidelguy.com no-later-than the beginning of the week. Now and again, I'll do spontaneous rants. You can always see if I'm live by visiting infidelguy.com 's front page.
Q. Was that you that I saw on Wife Swap?
A. Yes, I appeared on ABC's Wife Swap in November 2005. What an experience it was! There is much less reality in "Reality TV" than even a seasoned skeptic like myself expected. For more information about what really happened on the show, visit this link: My-adventures-on-ABCs-WifeSwap
Q. Didn't you use to sing with 112?
A. Yes and no, I sung with a group called Forte' in 1991 to 1993. I left for the military. They later became 112. I tell my story about my time with 112 Here .
Q. Are you anti-god and do you run hate sites?
A. No, I am not anti-god here. That charge against me is similar to the accusation of one hating Leprechauns or Gnomes. I think my understanding of what a god/s is/are supposed to be is greater than what man's religions have conjured for us. However, one can dislike particular religions and god concepts, based simply on the teachings, errancies and general lack of sensibleness pertaining to that religion. I'm a seeker of truth, even if that means ditching what I have come to know and believe. The truth sets me free. "No Gods, No Masters." - Margaret Sanger
Q. What is the Purpose of Infidelguy.com?
A. The primary focus of my website is to tell the world that it's okay NOT to believe in things simply because people tell you you should, e.g. god(s), psychic powers, astrology, homeopathy etc.. and also, that there are good reasons why hundreds of millions around the world do NOT believe in these things. Another purpose of infidelguy.com is to provide a place where honest doubters feel that they belong. There is a disdain for intellectualism in the world that must cease. Many people feel attacked and often feel marginalized for simply not accepting the status quo. At my IG Family of sites, skeptics and critical thinkers can socialize, chat (voice and text), read thought provoking material, listen to and watch educational / entertaining programming found no where else on the web. IG.com also serves as a quick resource for debate preparation. Of course, people of all faiths are welcome. Over at ig.com we like to learn. Inviting people of various backgrounds here allow this. We only hope that they learn from us also, as well as we each learn from each other.
Q. Does The Infidel Guy Think Believers in god(s)are stupid?
A. No, I don't think believers are stupid. I understand the many varied reasons why they believe as they do. I'm a former Christian myself. I don't think I was stupid when I was a believer... just misinformed and uneducated about many philosophical, scientific and theological issues.
Q. Does it cost anything to listen to the Infidel Guy?
A. No, not if you listen to my live stream or download shows from my podcast ( iTunes Link ). Search on itunes for " infidelguy ", check out my stickam page or the IG Media StoreFront for FREE and paid content.
Q. If it doesn't cost anything, why do I hear people saying "yeah but it costs money."
A. Spreading freethought and rocking your rational mind is my life's mission. I have been conducting "Education Activism" for over 9 years now, and this is my full time job. I am the first person on the Internet doing this type of work as a full time job. I am considered a pioneer in this field.
It isn't as glamorous as some would believe. Many of the people who listen to me support me by becoming a member to my site. Membership to post on my forums is free, but I offer membership packages that include a bunch of goodies. The most notable of those goodies is access to the extensive library of freethought videos and broadcasts, including virtually every broadcast I have ever done. Yes, you can download the broadcasts and can store them on your hard drive.
Q. Couldn't someone just download everything you have and then cancel?
A. Most of my paying members hold their membership because they think that I am an important asset to the freethought community. They are not interested in taking advantage of me in this way. If everyone took advantage of me this way I would not be able to do this for a living. I know a great many members that pay for membership because they support what I do, some of them never even download a single item.
