SHAOLIN TEMPLE OF BOOM David Alvarez laying down tracks recently at Matt Sorum's (The Cult, Velvet Revolver, Guns 'n' Roses) private studio. View the live footage at www.youtube.com/stobtv . "What a journey.....my life has taken so many turns....what a struggle but now it appears like all of the struggle and torment may soon be heading towards an impasse" says David Alvarez, founder of Shaolin Temple Of Boom. With 3 new musicians, STOB is now in the studio recording what David describes as "some of the best material written yet." The new members are Borja (Guitar), June (Bass), and Matt (Drums), and the band is recording with producer, Marc Jordan at Matt Sorum's private studio.. "Borja has been with me now for about 6 months and he has seen behind the scenes - how difficult it is to find competitent musicians in LA... we searched together for a while, but found our 2 remaining members one of which is an ex-bandmate and friend of Borja's.." says Alvarez. IAMX When Chris Corner was just 15 years old in the 90's, he started the London-based group SNEAKER PIMPS. Even though he wrote all the songs on their ground-breaking debut album "Becoming X," he opted to release the album with a female vocalist, Kelli Dayton. The resulting landslide of media attention generated a commercial success - the album sold over 1.5 million in the US alone. **The Latest: ...Now, with the US and UK release of the newly reworked version of "The Alternative," featuring the singles and accompanying videos to "President" and "Spit it Out," as well as the release of their debut album "Kiss + Swallow," IAMX is gearing up to re-conquer two countries which were once his - the US and the UK. www.myspace.com/iamx

EXCLUSIVE INTERVIEW WITH THE BIRTHDAY MASSACRE MAY/JUNE ISSUE OF MUEN MAGAZINE!
Interview with vocalist, Paul McCoy
By Shauna O'Donnell
HOW ARE THINGS GOING?
Paul: They're going really good, I'm home for a little bit about a week and a half, two weeks now so lots of well needed rest.
WHY DO YOU THINK OF YOURSELVES AS THE UNDERDOG IN THE MUSIC BUSINESS?
Paul: Umm you know I got signed when I was 19 years old and kinda came up not knowing anything about what I was getting myself into. I think I still don't. We've always been the band that was the first band on the bill for the concerts and we haven't sold as many as we wanted to over those years so I think we've just kinda been the opening band on all the bills we've done almost every rock tour in the past five or six years with every major act and we always seem to be the first band on. It makes us work, it only gives us 30 minutes. When Creed was around when we were on their tour we only had 30 minutes, it was us, then Sevendust, then Creed and you know Sevendust is amazing live and Creed had about 50,000 dollars worth of pyrotechnics every night so we had our 30 minutes to go out there and make people remember us versus what they were about to see. It kinda always challenged us to work hard.
BASICALLY YOUR SONGS ARE ABOUT PEOPLE OVERCOMING LOSS AND PAIN AND BECOMING TRIUMPHANT RIGHT?
Paul: Yeah it's just trying to overcome negative situations.
RIGHT... BECAUSE I KNOW THE SONGS FOR "ANTHEM FOR THE UNDERDOG"WERE WRITTEN AFTER HURRICANE KATRINA.
Paul: It was written after the hurricane, but we never set out to write a song for the hurricane I think it just kinda worked its way into our thoughts because of being surrounded by that so long.
JUSTIN RIMER JOINED THE BAND DURING THE MAKING OF THIS ALBUM. HE USED TO BE IN THE BAND BREAKING POINT. HE MAKES A GREAT ADDITION TO THE BAND.
Paul: He is awesome. Actually I was on the phone with him. We are writing more songs right now actually they just keep coming to us. I'm in Oklahoma right now and he's in Memphis and we are on the internet, and on the phone sending each other our ideas so it's just cool to see someone you mesh with so well.
WHAT KIND OF AN INFLUENCE HAS HE BEEN ON THE BAND MUSICALLY THAT YOU DIDN'T HAVE BEFORE?
Paul: He's just a really talented guy, really smart and he's one of those guys who if he gets an idea in his head he won't go to sleep until he gets it done. So he really helped us for this last record, myself especially, I would go into the studio and he would have some melody ideas and some stuff. I would go dude that's way out of my range, I can't sing that high I can't sing that loud and consistent and he would say oh yeah you can and you will go in there and do it. So I'd go sit in the studio and I'd feel embarrassed the first couple takes, I'd feel like I wasn't going to be able to hit the notes and then you know work with it and building confidence and I know what you can do, go do it. I'd go back and listen to it and be like man, I never thought I was going to be able to hit that note clean. Now were doing it live every night, it's broadened my range and helped me understand because before when we would write songs it would be us guys in the band locking ourselves in a room until we get some ideas structured and then I'd go take the music and write some lyrics. With Justin we all work on lyrics and we all work on everything, everybody's involved in the whole process. That's the new thing we do on this record, we just kind of came in the room and like even if I hear a drum beat, I can't play drums to save my life but I can mouth the drums and my drummer is really good and I can tell him I'm thinking of this kinda beat and he can play exactly what I was thinking. Everybody in the band learned to be open. It's not like you're the guitar player you write all the guitars. I play the guitar, Justin plays guitar, Aaron can play guitar, and the only thing we can't do is the drums, our drummer is one of those phenomenal guys we can just sit in there and say alright Aaron do what I'm thinking and he nails it perfectly. It's one of those creative processes where I can be stuck on a lyric and I have four other guys who say what if you do this and like Wow! that actually goes perfect that makes sense.Continued....
