Anything and everything Joss Whedon...Firefly-Awesome!...Angel-Best Batman show ever on TV...have to confess I mostly watch cartoons though, after working in Television Programming for 4 years, got burnt out on network television. Watch Lost, excelent show, but come on guys throw us a bone, nor more crumbs I want a full on gigantic meaty grissled bone, and by bone I mean a real big reveal, not these little answers to question you give us that just makes us ask 10 more questions. Guilty pleasure of Extreme Makeover: Home Edition...it can be hit or miss sometimes, but great editing makes for some very emotional pupet master television. Love the past 10 years of Bruce Timm's Animated DC Comic Book Universe. From Batman: the Animated Series to Justice League Unlimited, what a trip and acomplishment of creating this living breathing animated universe over decade and stilll going now. Bruce Timm you should be very very proud of what you have accomplished, just by itself Justice League Unlimited is not only a great cartoon but overall a super show that can kick anything on network televisions live action ass. Some of the best writting around (a lot of credit goes to Dwayne McDuffie for that) handling a huge cast of charecters and lots of action ut not missing the charecter moments and development. They took a page right out of shows like Lost and Whedon's shows.
If it don't got no pictures I ain't reading it...ha ha ha, see that's a double negative so that means I do read...wait...I think it's a triple negative (is there such a thing?) so does that mean I really don't read?...We'll I guess there is some truth to that as my literature of choice is usually accompanied by some form of visual stimuli or another. Like I've mentioned before, I love me some comic books! The medium has most deffinately evolved in it's many years to a true art form and truely can stand toe to toe in terms of depth of subject matter and skill of the word crafting and story telling and any other form of literature out there. That said.. I read too many to probably mention here...X-men, Superman, Spiderman, Batman, Avengers, JLA, Authority, Majestic, etc...lots and lots and lots of the mainstream titles, also read a lot of mini series, mainstream or independent, just love a good story. READ WE3! WE3 was a mini series from DC comics written by the incrediably creative genious Grant Morrison, this is a great exapmle of the depth of stories comics can tell, you wouldn't believe a dog, a cat, and a bunny could make you cry...Also I do read books, not a lot, but right now reading an excelent scriptwritting book.
SUPERMAN! Just Kidding...kind of...ok, not really. I'm a huge, huge, I mean John Holmes and Dirk Diggler Huge, comic book fan. I grew up with the Power Pack and got bullied at school with Peter Parker. I remeber the first day Kitty walked through the doors of Xaiver's mansion and reading the newspaper headline "Gotham's First Family Gunned Down in Crime Alley, Survived by Only Son". No one liked me or Bruce when we were angry and Diana never needed here lasso to make me tell the truth. Most of all Clark taught me the meaning of Truth, Justice, and the American Way. I absolutely love the idea of "Heroes", I love the mythology, psychology, and just the philosophy of what makes/or is a "Hero"...I could easliy fill up my entire page with all the Heroes from my childhood and all those I now as an adult realize are Heroes as well, like my wife and my father, but since I'm too lazy to type all of it out, I'll just say a little about my philosophy on heroes. Much like Beauty, I think the idea of a "Hero" is in the eye of the beholder. Lois Lane always saw Superman as a Hero, Lex Luther most definitely did not. Does this mean there really are no Heroes? but just the idea of a "Hero"? I don't know, that's why I love "Heroes" so much, it can be a very complex and deep subject.
