Stranger in a strange land

About Me

An expat residing in the Czech Republic, I'm devotee to the Aesthetic Experience, and I try to record these experiences through poetry mostly. I've released several, self-published chapbooks: "The Aesthetic Experience," "Sheep, Rabbits, Snails and Other Genetic Anomalies" and the most recent "Soft & Chewy." I enjoy being stimulated from books, music, travel, and being with a good company of individuals. And here's a couple personal quirks about me, I have a fondness towards certain zombie movies, I've been compared to Morrisey (some of my friends should understand what I mean), and I sometimes talk to cute and cuddly animals with a stupid, muchkin-smurfy voice.

My Interests

More to come!

I'd like to meet:

Anyone who is comfortable with their traits, talents and individuality.

Music:

Beethoven, Tchaikovsky, Daisy Chainsaw, David Bowie, Iggy Pop, Transplants, Modest Mouse, Flaming Lips, Misfists, Starlight Mints, Ani Defranco (DROOL!), Radiohead, Interpol, The Cramps, GWAR, Delerium, Massive Attack, The Clash (Combat Rock Rules!), Dresden Dolls, The Specials, Adam Ant, Portishead, Mazzy Star, Postal Service, Circle Jerks, Public Image LTD, Peter Murphey and Bauhaus, Alice Donut, Bad Brains, Sarah McLachlan, My Bloody Valentine, Joy Division and other stuff.

Movies:

Dawn of the Dead (original) and of course Shaun of the Dead, The Crow, Trainspotting, Fear of a Black Hat (a mockumentary, similair to "This Is Spinal Tap," about a gangsta rap group labeled N-iggas W-ith H-ats!) Once Upon a Time in Mexico, The Big Sleep, Scarface, Shakespeare in Love, The Virgin Suicides, Lord of the Rings, lots of the old school haunted house movies, Cassablanca, Fight Club, Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas, Rebel Without a Cause, The Wild Bunch, Grosse Point Blank and The Seven Samurai.

Television:

(Stole this from my friend Stephen Ruiz) Excpet Adult Swim, IFC and Snails crawling over each other on PBS!

Books:

Catch 22, Hunchback of Notre Dame, Flowers of Evil, Unbearable Lightness of Being, Sorrows of Young Werther and Faust (both by Goethe), Frankenstein, The Enormous Room, Notes from the Underground, Point Counter Point and the comic book 'I Feel Sick.' A friend of mine even calls me by the character's name Spidgy! I prefer stories rather than the author's but here's a few names that I like: T.S. Elliot, Pablo Neruda, Tim Robbins, Charles Baudelaire, Ezra Pound, Aldous Huxley, Goethe, Rainer Maria Rilke, Dostoevsky, Wittgenstien, Jaques Derrida and such.

Heroes:

I got two kinds, one is completely fictional, which happens to be O'Barr's "The Crow," and the other is no so fictional, Draja Mihialovich.
