Redbone Recording started in 1994. After a few joint attempts, I decided to go it alone. I first started in a basement of a house I rented. Recording in one big room. Learning seperation was everything, I decided to build seperate rooms to achieve my goal. Started out small by word of mouth and recording friends. Soon my reputation as being fair priced and easy going started getting out, and the bands came in. I still don't advertise and seem to be busy all the time, Thanks to all. After recording there for 10 years, my wife Karen and I were able to buy our own place. What a project but indeed I built a new Redbone. Thanks to some great friends and alot of elbow grease, a new and improved Redbone was born. My recordings are of the highest quality and I will do my best to make you feel at home.
I play bass guitar and the bass has been good to me. I play a Modulus 6 string, a Lakeland 494 4 string, an Ibanez neck thru 4 string Sound Gear, and a 12 string Galviston bass. I use an Ampeg SVT pro 5 bass head w/ 2 15" JBL speakers in a vintage Ampeg cab. An Ashdown 300 head built into a 210 kickback combo for smaller applications. I use a Line 6 bass POD, a sonic maximizer and a variety of floor pedals.
I love all types of music, but enjoy local original music the best. I think that's why I enjoy my studio so much!
I`m recording on a AW4416 24 bit fully automated recording board with an 80 gig hard drive. It`s got an on board CD burner, 56 bit signal processing and effects. I`ve been on this board for about 5 years, and I love it! I use an Alessis Studio 32, 16 channel mixing board. I also have a Fostex DAT machine, Yamaha studio speakers and sub woofer.
Microphones: CAD lg. diaphragm condenser, 3 Cad sm. diaphragm condensers, 5 CAD tom/snare mics, 2 CAD kick drum mics, AKG D112 kick drum mic, Shure sm58, Audio Technica high output vocal mic, and 5 Shure sm57`s
I have 3 recording rooms. The Main Recording room is equipped with a full PA system for live recording. (A Mackie 808S powered mixing board, 2 Yamaha 15" main speakers, and 2 Yamaha 15" floor monitors.) A Drum Booth equipped with head phone monitoring and complete visuals of every Studio room. A Vocal Booth equipped with a video camera feed to the Control Room. And yes, there's even a bathroom!
Guitar gear: '85 studio Les Paul, '89 SG 61 reissue, Hamer tele copy, Jackson Kelly explorer, Yamaha artist series double cut Les Paul style, Aria hollow body 6 string and a Washburn 6 string acoustic. Fender concert all tubed amp 60w w/ 12" Fender speaker, Marshall 50w valvestate amp, Line 6 POD w/ floor board. There's probably more I just can`t think of them all right now.
I've recorded alot of Bands, and I must say, I truely enjoyed working with each, and every one of you. These are all the people and bands that I have worked with. If I forgot you, please drop me a note, so I can fix it.
