About Me

Originally, it was just a bunch of demos that managed to escape being recorded by any of the bands I was in at the time and took on a life of their own. Now I've decided to make something of them and cut them with drums and electric instruments in my own slapdash, homespun kinda way. I hope they end up sounding like a cross between Cotton Mather and The Liquor Giants covering the first Blossom Toes album but I imagine they'll be more like Racey after 20 pints of Butcombe Gold.

My Interests

Music:

Band Website: myspace.com/campbellstokessunshinerecorder
Band Members: Me and my two fellow sunshine recorders.
Influences: Donovan, British 60s psychedelia (especially all the little bands like Argosy and Turquoise who nobody remembers), that whole Gene Clark/Dillard & Clark/The Byrds/The Dillards axis, the mighty Jimmy Campbell RIP, Big Star, Badfinger, The Who, The Kinks, The Small Faces, The Creation, The Left Banke, Nazz, Emmitt Rhodes, early Fairport Convention, Sandy Denny, Vashti Bunyan, Trees, Fotheringay, Kaleidoscope/Fairfield Parlour, Tomorrow, The Zombies, The Easybeats, Paul Revere & The Raiders, The Monkees, American Beauty by The Grateful Dead, The West Coast Pop-Art Experimental Band, Simon & Garfunkel (but not the later stuff), Australian, Swedish and Dutch '60s pop like The Twilights, Tages and Golden Earrings, those Beatles and Beach Boys guys... man, there's just too much of this shit.
Sounds Like: Someone who can't actually sing or play any instruments properly and should have stayed behind his drumkit but has lots of lovely friends egging him on and wants to be the new Fairfield Parlour.
Record Label: EMI please.
Type of Label: None
