About Me

Profile courtesy of MySpace Layouts Well, I am tired of having just a “bio” up on this page. If you want to see that you can go to my regular website (www.reneemixon.com). Here’s a little of what’s been going on with me for the past year or so.I moved into the house I grew up in three years ago in October and just really love it. It’s now just me... I had to put Idgy down on March 19th. That is one of the hardest things I have ever done. She would have been 14 in August. She was the best dog and companion anyone could have and I miss her very much. Her ashes are on my bar and I think of her daily.I guess you could say I am tidy... I like things in their place. I have three bedrooms… one’s an office of course. But the other is a full bedroom size walk-in closet (complete with a piano, a victrola, and an antique sewing machine), oh yeah, and one bedroom actually has my bed in it.Let’s see what else… for the past eight years I have been working at an educational agency. I am the technology something or other and I am work with state school data alot. I know it sounds like more than one person could stand, but I can handle it. I still get to go in schools for school improvement visits. That’s enough to give me a fix so that I don’t have to go back to teaching. Before that I taught seventh grade math and science for five and one-half years. Boy time flies when you are having fun. During that time is when I started piddling around with music a bit. Singing some harmony with a friend and teaching myself guitar. By the way, I am still teaching myself guitar. I know enough to get by or be dangerous… probably both.I am still playing music as much as possible. My dream would be to make this a full-time job someday. The problem is I have to have insurance. I have a pacemaker and it has to be maintained regularly and changed out every so many years and I have not been able to find out where they do that for free. If anyone knows, please send the information my way. It’s amazing to me that that little piece of equipment that is about the size of a silver dollar cost that much. It is truly an incredible instrument and I am thankful that they make these things for those of us with screwed up hearts. Wow, speaking of hearts, that’s a whole other story. I won’t even go there for now.I just finished my third CD with 12 songs. You are listening to two of them on this page. Please check out the others on my other website. www.reneemixon.comWell, that is all I think I have to share for now… at least in such a public venue. Hope to see you out there somewhere. Have a good one!
