Where did the name R.A.M-M.A.N come from?! Did it emerge from their respect for an 80's cartoon hero who broke through walls with his head? Or, does it stand for 'Revolt Against Man-Made Atrocities Now'? Who knows?!!! Who gives a shit?!!!
When the band was formed in August 2001, nobody could sing, nobody could play and they hardly had any equipment. So nothing has changed a lot really then, ha ha!!!!!!....... R.A.M-M.A.N began life as a fast & catchy punk band but went on to become much faster and hardcore sounding as time went on. They have played in many parts of the UK, the Netherlands and have ventured to Germany.
They started with 1 guitarist but in June 2002, Shent was thrown in on lead to add more power and depth to their songs. This was definitely when their harder and more aggressive sound began to creep in. The band had another good mate on drums for the first 2 years, but in June 2003 John stepped down to concentrate on his other band, Swaktang. Daz (formerly of Eastfield) took over and has been with them since.
Their songs always mean something important to them and the lyrics are as important as the music. Their first EP J.R HARTLEY IS A KILLER (Aug 2002) was a fast and catchy CD recorded at Paul's home and is no longer available anywhere. Material on FUCK SOCIETY (May 2004) was a lot harder and faster than their early songs and this has continued onto the YOU CAN'T FOOL ME demo (Nov 2004). This was followed by a split EP with The Nihilists and Radiation Angels called THE NEW BREED (Nov 2005). The track 'False Hate' from this split featured on the 'Angry Scenes Volume 1' compilation CD (March 2006), which also featured the likes of DRONGOS FOR EUROPE, CONTEMPT, THE RESTARTS, 4 PAST MIDNIGHT, ASSERT, THE CRACKED ACTORS and FLEAS & LICE to name but a few. All their material is self-recorded and 100% DIY and the new album called TOXIC HASTE is out now!
Some of the bands Ram-Man have played with include: THE RESTARTS, DRONGOS FOR EUROPE, INNER TERRESTRIALS, THE LURKERS, CONTEMPT, POLICE BASTARD, P.O.A, BICKLE'S CAB, BURN-SUBVERT-DESTROY, ACTIVE SLAUGHTER, DUN 2 DEF, HEADJAM, THE CREETINS, CUPID STUNT, EASTFIELD, INTENTION, DEMONIC UPCHUCKS, WAR/SYSTEM, THE FIGHT, JESSE JAMES, ALL AMERICAN REJECTS, YOURCODENAMEIS:MILO, STUNTFACE, NO COMPLY, 2 SHOT BLAST, ROTTEN AGENDA, LAST UNDER THE SUN, SKIMMER, HEARTFELT, NOCTOPHYLE, HEADHAUNTER, SWAKTANG, THE CUNTS, KAMIKAZE SPERM, BASTARDS TRAINED BY BASTARDS, D'CORNER BOIS, PAUL CARTER, DIK GURU, THE NIHILISTS, RADIATION ANGELS
Keep an eye out for their live performances, as they're always looking to play when and where they can.......

Sounds Like: RAM-MAN

"Violent aggressive old school chant-along no-brainer good-for-your soul hardcore crossover punk, good good good in a Pennywise go splatter like a rancid pizza delivery boy crash" - Organ Magazine - Jan 2005

"Ram-Man do what they're name suggests, right into your skull" - The Jailhouse Programme, Feb 2006

"Super fast, high energy, adrenaline pumping punk rock for your skate board gang and dive bar brawl. And if your not into that kind of stuff, just good freakin in your face rock. The band does not waste anytime with crazy artsy riffs or anything, they get straight to pumping your ears full of heavy noise. A catchy melody, with a catchy chord progression...... These guys will totally rock the piss out of you and you will love them for it. A+ for thrashability factor". Captains - Garageband.com

"Wow, if its energy you want, and you need some music that can instantly release any pent-up anger, frustation or rage, then you have found the track that will continuously satisfy! No complex, drawn-out meandering here, just 100% absolute, solid punk rock. Long enough, to grab you by the balls (and squeeze unquestionably hard!), but short enough, to warrant another listen, again & again! Right from word go, thumpin bass pushes through the speakers, into your psyche, followed by wave after wave of guitars, drums and vocals. The song does exactly what the makers hope, beautifully summarising the phrase 'SHORT SHARP SHOCK! Fuckin Class!!". - EDGEWAY - Garageband.com
