About Me

I was born into a family of (marielito) Cuban immigrants that came to the US in 1980. I grew up in what used to be called Miami Beach not South Beach when it was a ghetto. I went to public school in Miami Beach and North Miami and graduated in 2000.I entered slavery right after High School, I've worked all sorts of manual labor and industrial jobs. I've tried organizing a union in every shop, warehouse, and construction site that I've worked in Miami. I've also worked under the protection of a trade union (International Association of Sheet Metal Workers Local Union 32) but I was not meant to hammer Sheet Metal all day. One day I decided to be a house slave and I worked in the corporate world for three months before I realized how fucked up this world really is, I made money sure but I was only making a commission and a wage while making my boss richer and more powerful. Today I am a full time anti-capitalist Revolutionary. Bosses beware!!!

My Interests

Organizing workers, students and artists to stand up against capitalism and this whole profit driven racist and sexist society we live in.
I love poetry and I love expressing myself through art, writing and politics. I love the feeling that you have when you find yourself in love.
Traveling outside of the U.S. always floats my boat. I'm dreaming of touring central america. I wanna buy a moped, ride from Miami to Mexico and end up in Venezuela. I'll write my own motorcycle diaries.

I'd like to meet:

I'd rather communicate with people in person but I like the idea of maybe finding, or being found by a beautiful partner of the female persuasion to be my friend, comrade and partner in crime. Anyone who knows me, knows that what I find most attractive in a woman is revolutionary consciousness and heart; if you have luscious lips and a beautiful singing voice that helps too!

Music:

My musical likings are very varied. Music is important in my life and is one of the highest forms of human expression I treasure. For me, what the singer or musicians express in song is fundamental. The content of the song and the emotion behind it is decisive for me to identify with it. Wether it be Silvio Rodriguez, Ali Primera, Bob Marley or Sublime, what is behind the song is what makes me feel it; what compels me to listen, sing, and move to it's beat.Because I like expressive music I am a lover of African and Latin folk music, especially if they are songs of struggle, like the Toyi Toyi sung by South African Militants in marches against the old Aparteid regime or like the Andean music sung and played by groups like Inti-Illimani, Quilipayun and singers like Violeta Parra and Atahualpa Yupanqui who sung the soundtrack of the Latin American struggle for national liberation in the 20th century.I have other sides to my musical tastes that relate to my mood and what I am doing. There are times when I feel romantic and you could find me listening to your cliché; love songs; love in the sence of "I love You". Or very rarely i'll listen to Punk. I am not impressed with gory or morbid lyrics, sexist, racist or classist shit! I think that Dark and gloomy shit is infantile, depressing and counters pride and dignity. Bling Bling shit gets on my nerves, Big spinners and grills; Fuck that! This type of music was created as a distraction to what Hip-Hop really was; when MC's used to Rap about reality in the streets and in black every day life in the US.

Movies:

..Cuban movies, documentaries mostly. But forget Hollywood!

Oh yeah, check out this documentary. I was featured in it.

Television:

TELESUR! One day, in the hands of the people, television will become a productive, educational, and far more entertaining source of audio-visiul stimulation. Right now, I like Comedy Central, Free Speech TV, Link TV (but I don't have cable TV), PBS and channel surfing.

Books:

Books are very important in my life. Some would say that I'm a bibliophile, but I'm very selective with what I read - mostly because my spare reading time is scarce. I have little time for fiction. I'm limmiting myself to reading only litterature that might help me change the world.
