"The coolest chicks ON EARTH!!!" - Miss Pamela Des Barres on The BBAs

About Me

Welcome to the MySpace of The BBAs! Our website is currently underway (we're SERIOUS this time, it's due soon!), but just you wait!In the 60's, 70's and 80's, the groupies which followed their favorite musicians worshipped the music they made, for it touched them in ways nothing else could. However, when the scene began to change, and gold-digging, in-it-only-for-the-fame girls started infiltrating the music world (or as we have so delicately put it: slags...a daffy word we use to describe these women), the word "groupie" gained a negative connotation and ridiculous stereotypes. Pamela Des Barres and The GTOs, Pennie Lane & The Flying Garter Girls, Cynthia Plaster Caster and The Plaster Casters of Chicago, Margaret Moser & The Texas Blondes, and every other great groupie were in it because they loved being a part of scene, loved their favorite music and the wonderful men who made it. Riches and personal gain didn't matter, even though these girls often ended up in the jet-set lifestyle! As one part of the new generation of a TRUE "groupie-revival", The Beatle BandAides (girls who were all brought together by their love for The Beatles, their love of music, and Almost Famous) we pick up where our groupie kindred sisters left off, showing our undying love for the sweet spiritual voice of the soul that is music, and the fabulous, talented musicians who create it.

"I wanted to be close with the men who made me feel so damn good, and nothing was going to stop me. I wanted to treat a rock star...nice. Magically, I was in the right place, Los Angeles, at exactly the right time, the halcyon 60's, and when I knocked on backstage doors, they opened wide for me. I befriended and adored the men who made the music that changed the world. It was a time, I knew for certain, that would never come again. I was in the middle of the musical revolution and my soul was spinning. The Beatles chanted 'All you need is love', and I proceeded to prove them right." -Miss Pamela, I'm With the Band
"When I was 14, my Mom and her boyfriend took me to a Rolling Stones concert - and I freaked out and I rushed up to the front of the stage and then a thousand people had the same idea at the same time and I was getting crushed. And I couldn't breathe and that thought flashed through me - almost like a car accident - I thought I might die. It was in the middle of "Midnight Rambler" and Keith Richards saw me. And he came over, and came to the front of the stage, and he pulled me out. And they took me backstage and they gave me coke...with ice... and lemon. And I never went home." - Penny Lane, Original script of Untitled (Almost Famous)

WATCH THIS VIDEO PLEASE!

This is a recent interview with our number one groupie muse, Pamela Des Barres. Miss Dollierocker, Penny Lane, Danni, and Senti are all fortunate enough to know her. She is a lovely, smart, funny, gorgeous human being, and a true kindred spirit. Groupies, this one's for you.

Music:

The BBAs are against exploitation of music-lovers by Ticket Touts. Only the musicians should be able to make money from their art... and they are welcome to exploit us as much as they like.
*kiss*

If you are in the UK you can buy and sell gig tickets with other fans at face value on Scarlet Mist:

Use it often to deprive the touts from their ill-gotten gains, and spend your extra money on more gig tickets and music!
