sex in all its forms and richness, style, politics, subversion, real punk, kissing all night, dancing, misfit literature, poetry, rock 'n' roll, good greasy food, guitars.
I'd like to meet:
Who would I like to meet? Punk rockers, finger poppers, be-boppers, stylists, leftists, sex-positive revolutionaries, beat poets, guitar heros, porn heroines, misfit prose junkies, coffee addicts, intellectuals, off-center clothing designers, six-string addicts, Brit poppers, and young modernists of all ages. And Iggy Pop and John Waters. Again.

Music:
"I have no pleasure in any man who despises music. It is no invention of ours: it is a gift of God. I place it next to theology. Satan hates music: he knows how it drives the evil spirit out of us". ~ Martin Luther
"And those who were seen dancing were thought to be insane by those who could not hear the music." - Frederic Nietzche
What do I love, in a nuthsell? '70s Punk (Sex Pistols, NY Dolls, Clash, Generation X), Manic Street Preachers, Iggy Pop, David Bowie, Hanoi Rocks, Rolling Stones, The Who, the White Stripes, blues, '70s reggae, '60s soul, ancient country music, some garage, Little Richard, Bo Diddley, Chuck Berry, Elvis, old jazz...but that just barely scratches the surface!
And by the way, I am OBSESSED with The Libertines. Best band of this decade, for my money: The perfect mix of punk and poetry, and so achingly, thrillingly human, with incredible songwriting. As my buddy Will says, it's like England's finally produced their own Replacements. Certainly the first major UK thrill I've received since the early Manics and Elastica....
And have I mentioned my obsessions with Cheap Trick, Hanoi Rocks, or Johnny Thunders?
Movies:
Breakfast At Tiffany's, A Clockwork Orange, Purple Rain, The Blow Up, A Face In The Crowd...tons more, including anything directed by John Waters.
Television:
Can't stand the shit, really....
Books:
"The Basketball Diaries" -Jim Carroll, "I Need More" - Iggy Pop, "To Kill A Mockingbird", - Harper Lee, "The Bell Jar" - Sylvia Plath, " England's Dreaming" - Jon Savage, "Women" -Charles Bukowski...tons more. I read incessantly. it's one of my addictions.
Heroes:
Iggy Pop, Richey Manic, Bowie, Keith Richards, Pete Townshend, The Clash, Johnny Thunders (my ultimate hero!), Johnny Rotten, Steve Jones, Rick Nielsen, Jack Kerouac, William S.Burroughs, Bukowski, Lester Bangs("Rock 'n' roll, at its core, is a buncha raving shit."), Muhammed Ali, Bob Marley, Bob Dylan, Elvis Presley when he was 21.
