LATEST DEMOS OF CITADEL / DERNIERES DEMOS DE CITADEL:
Citadel is a power trio born in 2002 when Fred MARTIN-BOUYER (Lead vocals and guitar) Michael GALAND (Drums) and Julien ZORDAN (Bass) met themselves. The three musicians are from Paris, France and have very good rehearsal possibilities (stage and recording studio) in a musical facility. The band could work on great sound design and lighting.
A powerful rock based on the performance of the singer and guitarist, influenced by bands like The fall of Troy, Muse, We Insist!, Kyuss...
Shows started to be planned and CITADEL plays first part for many famous French bands and plays as much as they can in Parisian venues. To offer the audience great shows, the band starts to work with Nicolas Coze as a sound engineer and Romain Aumont for lighting, and Astrid Karoual as a live VJ.
The band is particularly attentive to the writing process and to the live rendering. They have many influences from pop to progressive rock (muse, pink floyd, queen, yes) and prefer to try new sounds than to use again and again the old recipes of the bands of the past decades. Even if the band likes to explore new ways to construct pieces of music, they keep in mind the importance of musicality so that everybody could enjoy their music.
The lyrics of CITADEL are in English. The band says that the lyrics are dealing with feelings expressed by characters living in the future, post apocalyptical. The band develops many references to science fiction and anticipation movies in their music, always powerful and with some kind of grandeur.
The particular science fiction world of the singer is well supported by a great rhythmic section.
Rock Sound
In 2005 the band prepares a new album after the first one was recorded in summer 2003. This new album was released in October 2006 and distributed by MUSEA (who distributes some titles of pink-floyd, king crimson, yes) The band is now looking for gigs and prepares their next album in their studio in France.
