Grouse is Dublin, Ireland based musician/ producer Ronan Carroll. It is an outlet for his electronic, dub and ambient influenced productions.
He has been involved in music most of his life, playing guitar and bass in multiple bands throughout the years and it was around the turn of the century that he began to dabble in the production side of things. He had become particularly enamoured with dub inspired downtempo and triphop and with the help of some guest musicians started composing beats and putting together some tracks in his home studio.
In April 2005, "We Want To Be Loved", a set of 12 dark, trippy mostly instrumental downtempo tracks, was released on Carroll's own Babyfly Records.
The CD can be purchased at CDBaby and Amazon.com and MP3's can be bought on iTunes and many other MP3 stores.
The album has been described as, "multi-layered", with, "funky beats and soothing melodies", a "stunning debut", and, "with each listen something new is discovered." (CDbaby.com).
Tracks from the album have been featured in a documentary shown on Irish network television as well as appearing on the nationally broadcast PRI show "Echoes", with John Diliberto, and web radio like Groovera, Jazzy Lounge, Deep Intense, Smooth Lounge, BeOS and various college radio stations around the U.S.
