Im going to vent a little here. I just can't get into 99.9% of bands that are around now. These bands aren't (insert whatever genre term you want), they're just bad bands. You want good music then listen to the bands who started it. Here is a short list of bands I think, in my old jaded opinion, EVERYONE should listen to. Then you'll know what the band you think is so good is trying to sound like.

Yes, I know MOST everyone that knows me already knows these bands(thanks for introducing ME to them) and why I've left out most of the obvious great bands. These are bands that I feel have never gotten the respect and recognition they deserve. These bands have changed so many lives and even though it sounds melodramatic saved who knows how many lives. These bands really made a difference and it hurts me that so many bands that care so little about their impact get the respect that these bands should have. Were I still in a band these would be listed under my influences. This is for those who haven't heard of these bands, and since they had such an impact in my life, I owe them something and I'll do what little I can to repay them.
