About Me

**THIS PAGE IS RUN BY NEW GRANADA RECORDS, NOT THE MEMBERS OF SCROG ***
With a crushing ferocity and a true independent spirit shared by fellow hometown heroes Reversal Of Man and Assuck, Scrog was one part brutal punch to the face, two parts Joy Division and three parts Melvins. Forging new territory for the mid-90’s HardCore/Screamo/Metal scene, Scrog combined all the elements of Tampa, Florida’s heavy reputation with introspective lyrics to make heavier, slower, louder mayhem that was intensified tenfold during each live performance. With a backdrop of fully stacked Ampeg’s, it was these live sonic attacks that left the heart pounding, the brain thinking, and the walls rumbling.
"...this act displays more guts than any emo, screamo, whatever act that's around these days." - Chronicles of Chaos
"Bred from the black arts churned out by Tampa’s metal environs, then undercut by every other alterna-whattayagot, Scrog’s switcheroo hardcore amassed all kinds of jagged changes, sputtering rhythms and aggravating attitudes before most folks knew you could do that with music. Many still don’t." - Focus Magazine
It’s been years since Scrog took its final bow, and Central Florida is still feeling the aftershock of that last chord.
