WHO WE ARE
Flytrap music starts with the production/arrangement/performance/songwriting team of Anand Gan and Doug Davis. The duo have been working together as a music team since they met in New York City in 1996.
From their days as co-founders of the pop/rock band Kingfly to their current roles as a production team, the “constant†in the relationship has always been a focus on great songs, attention to detail and the desire to make the best music possible. Working as a production team has allowed them to explore such varied styles as Pop/Rock/RNB/Dance/World/Remix and has kept the ideas and the approach to making music fresh.
But Flytrap is more than just a duo. The extended Flytrap team encompasses a vast network of people, a network built from years of working in the music business as artists, producers, side musicians, show promoters (all the things that modern artists must to do these days to have a successful music career).
This network includes a variety of high end recording studios, project studios, management companies, mastering houses, live venues and music business people. Flytrap is really a wealth of music business knowledge, and one of the main reasons that artists are so loyal and working on a project becomes much more than just a “business†relationship.

So what makes the “Flytrap Sound� Layered, melodic, ambient, textured, modern, classic are all words that would describe a typical “Flytrap†production. Combining an organic, traditional approach to making records with the best of today’s technology is where a Flytrap project finds the right balance, the right plan for the right sound…
So what does that mean?
The sonic and musical palette to polish a song if it needs it, the taste and restraint to leave things raw and energetic when that’s appropriate, live string arrangements, lush background vocals, tight rhythm sections, layered guitars, clean mixes…
