In late 2004; guitarist Ryan Mason, and good friend guitarist Phil Muise decided to start a band together. Looking for just the right vocalist the two placed an add on a local music news website. Soon after, the ad was answered by vocalist Nathan Welton. An audition was planned, and immediately Ryan and Phil knew that the position had been filled.
The three began work on writing, while looking for a drummer. After a couple of months of being unsuccessful in their search , Tyler McSheffrey a co-worker of Ryan Mason was propositioned. Although Tyler was in another band at the time, and after repeated requests, Tyler agreed to listen to a self made demo. After hearing only one song, Tyler was impressed by what he heard, and decided to leave his band and join what would become HOUR OF SIN (formerly called se7en).
HOUR OF SIN (se7en) played several shows as a four piece with out a bassist. With great feedback received, it would seem that no one was bothered by the lack of bass in the music, except the band. They tried out a few bass players with little success. A close friend of the band, Dan Desjardins, who helped out with equipment, and attended all of their shows asked to try out for the bass player position. With little experience and with lots of enthusiasm, he was eager to learn the songs. Ryan spent a few weeks teaching Dan the set list, and he had his first jam with the band soon after.
The band played their first show as a whole at Nep-Tunes on December 2nd. Soon after they went into the studio to record a demo with V Side Productions. A demo release is in the works, and the band is now known as HOUR OF SIN.
In May 2006 Nathan Welton left the band to pursue other endeavors. HOUR OF SIN wish him all the luck in the future. A search is currently on for a new singer!
