About Me

My band's website is here: Secret Archives of the Vatican !

Broken Drum Records is my record label. We are very, very small-scale and have released one full CD, several short-run CDRs and have licenced some tracks for compilations in Europe and the USA. We make music that mixes breakbeats, tablatronica and phat dub basslines with influences from Arabic, Indian, Turkish and tango music. As well as a whole pile of other stuff!

My Interests

Music. I have a small record label and I play various instruments. I have a recording studio. History, theology and politics. These are intertwined. Food. I like to cook and eat. Travel. There is an amazing world out there. I am particularly interested in the Arabic-speaking world - I have been to Morocco, Egypt and Jordan as well as several other countries. Politics. No, I don't support any political parties. They have nothing to offer the world but I am interested in what goes on and the uses and abuses of power. Resistance is not futile.
I will not be assimilated into the American Hegemony.
..
Check me out!

I'd like to meet:

Supermodels.....oh, and Bill Laswell.

Here are some tunes from my band, Secret Archives of the Vatican

Music:

I love the Global Beats scene, Asian Underground, Asian Massive, Tablatronica, Arabtronica, traditional music from Persia, Turkey, the Arab world, dub, electronica and more.

I like such artists as: Bill Laswell, Natasha Atlas, Ojos de Brujo, Transglobal Underground, Dhafer Youssef, Rachid Taha, Niyaz, dZihan & Kamien, The Spy From Cairo, U-Cef, Cheb I Sabbah, Dub Gabriel, Tabla Beat Science, MC Rai, Azzddine, Aisha Kandisha's Jarring Effects, Oojami, Aiwa, Clotaire K - hey! You get the gist. Anything with a cool beat and an Eastern vibe.

I play guitar; I have a Takamine EN10C acoustic, a custom-built Jerry Bix strat type, a Godin Glissentar 11-string fretless guitar, a 12-string Fender strat, a custom-built Oakwood octave mandola and some Vietnamese stringed things too, whose names elude me right now. I also have an electric oud which I bought in Istanbul. I play the Jerry Bix through a Roland VG8 and I also have a Fender Super 60 amp.
