Life is for living, not for watching...

About Me

I like people; I like learning what makes them tick, what they believe, what they hope and what they dream, what they do and why they do it. That’s why I’m a journalist and that’s why I’m on this thing, because, although I live in London, I don’t get to travel anywhere near as much as I would love to, and there are always more people to meet in the world. I have three jobs so I’m stupid busy most of the time. I’m a news reporter for the satisfaction, an administrator for the money and a music writer for the meeting musicians I admire. And the free gigs and tunes of course ;) I write for rock sound and Alternative London Magazine, although the latter is about to relaunch as a national title and we don't have a name for it yet. If you want me to review your stuff or write you anything drop me a line. I love to dance, to party, to see my friends smile, to sing, to write, to travel, to read, to learn and to explore. I like piercings, tattoos and other body modification. I have a dread fetish and an accent fetish, I love intelligence and soul and most especially, passion. I break out in a cold sweat when I imagine what it must be like to live without music. I’m brutally honest, slightly intense and never satisfied. Hello :)

My Interests

I'd like to meet:

Well cool people obviously, anyone who is interesting, intelligent, up for a debate or a dance, anyone who intrigues or inspires me, anyone who wants to help me make melodic, noisy, achingly beautiful industrial music and especially anyone who makes me laugh :) And Glaswegian dreddyboys with piercings and tattoos...

Music:

I keep meaning to sort this out but I never do, so here's the short version: Industrial, noize, psytrance, EBM, old skool punk, metal, electro, ambient, illbient, rock, psychadelic rock, blues, goth, folk, mad but beautiful eclectic stuff and the sound of people laughing.

Movies:

Clever ones and Asian horror and gore.

Television:

Tend to avoid this but when I'm not working I'll make time for Dispatches, Newsnight, good documentaries, The Mighty Boosh and Desperate Housewives. And when they were on Brass Eye, The Day Today, Six Feet Under, Shameless, Spitting Image, The Office, Monkey and Mr Benn.

Books:

Oooh yes, lots please. I think the best way to do this is to list my top ten books of all time. Might take me a while to decide that tho ;)

Heroes:

My friend Debz who is amazing, likewise my Mum, people who selflessly help people, people who create beautiful music, fiction, drama and art, people who get out there and do shit instead of wingeing about how much they hate their lives and anyone who overcomes adversity with a smile on their face.

My Blog

hello

I just saw the funniest thing. My housemate was showing me his myspace page - he's The Raddler - and he's got this dictionary thing on it. Anyway, there's lots you can't find on there, they just don't...
