Offical Biography.
All the guys in the band went to the same school and we knew eachother from the local hardcore-punkrockscene and one of those boring winterdays we came up with this brilliant idea of starting up a band together. In the beginning we just played some punkrock-hardcorecovers rehearsing in Adams bedroom and it smelled a whole lot of swett from Josés big watobutt and I think that our songs smelled pretty bad too but we had a lot of fun.
After a year or so playing local shows and having recordered a demo that noone have heard we decided to do a mini-CD on a record label that José simultaneously started up, called Desperate fight records. We sold about 1000 copies of it and then it went out of press, we didn´t want to make a second press. Shortly after that we welcomed a fifth member, a guitarrist named Kristofer Steen and then we started to write songs to our fullength album now known as "senseless".
In the midle of that winter (-93) we went on our first punkrocktour in Norway together with our friends in Refused. Crashed both the van and the car but since the shows had been so marvellousely great we happily took the train home to Umeå, Sweden. In the end of the summer -94 we recorded the senseless album and we went on a short tour through Europe that we put together ourselves. We recieved a good response and met a lot of nice people involved in the European hardcore scene. It was worth all the long hours of rides in our small van. After that tour we switched Kristofer (who went to Refused) to our new guitarrguru Pär (who came from Refused).
The coming winter we played a lot of shows in Sweden and we made a short tour in Norway / Sweden with Strife. In the springtime of -95 we recorded our mini-CD "neverending well of bliss" and in the summer we played at some festivals in Sweden and in the fall we made a seven week long tour throughout Europe together with 108. After the 108 tour... Jonas, our drummer, left us to do Separation. So, we added Daniel. He was the big lift for the band and the songs just plopped up from everywhere... so we decided to do something about it. After a couple of months of rehearsals we finnally decided to enter the studio.
The new album was recorded during the summer of 96 and released during the fall... It was supported by a longer, successful, Swedish tour. On our X-mas holidays we took off for Germany, Belgium and Austria... also with good results. January 97 was dedicated to Norway. We did 8 gigs there. After the shows in Norway we did just a few Swedish shows until Adam was no more in the band. He was replaced with Niklas Rudolfsson, a lo-fi guitarist and a childhood pal to Daniel. A couple of summer festivals where played in Sweden and so until we left for a 4 weeks long Euro/UK tour together with our friends in Starmarket.

This was Desperate Fights and Abhinandas first record. Basicly you can say that we started Desperate Fight to get this shit out. We had no expectations, we did the layout in about 7 minutes and yes, the picture on the back is fake and yes, we didn´t have any lyrics at all to the last song! We pressed 1.000 copies of this record and they were sold out pretty quick. This record was never pressed again, well actually it was. By mistake the pressing plant pressed 200 extra copies. We bought all of them and destroyed then, then we called down to the pressing plant and told them to destroy the masters!
This record was recorded towards the end of 1993 and released in early 1994. Recorded at Dunkers by Micke, Markus and Abhinanda.

- Fallen
- Competition in hatred
- Love story?
- Drift apart
- Dragon
- My source
- Serenade
This was the record that turned Desperate Fight to a "real" label. It went from a hobby thing to a more "serious" thing. We moved out from my bedroom to a basement compartment where we installed the first "real" Desperate Fight office. This record was released in the summer of 1994 and the same day the band got them, they left for their first Eurotour. Through the years this record has become the labels best selling CD and considered a hardcore classic by many...
So far the band hasn´t got any money for the sales of this record, so at least it´s a good bussiness for the label. Everything went to buy computers, hahahaha... what a rip off!

The first release with Pär on guitar. This was also Jonas last recording with Jonas on drums. The songs for this record where written under some heavy time pressure and the outcome was not so satisfactory for the band. Still, the first song Emptiness is one of the classic Abhinanda songs...

After their superb first full length Abhinanda kinda fell into a black hole. Sure, they released an EP and another full length, but they missed the panache of Senseless. So a new effort was needed to put them back on the map in the Swedish hardcore scene. Rumble was that effort and they succeeded pretty well in their mission. With the first song Junior it’s pretty obvious Abhinanda never outgrew the influence of their “big brother†Refused. Both bands have a similar carreer (musically at least, when it comes to succes Refused just went a step higher). So likewise we find the typical Swedish garage rock’n’roll influences (riffs and songstructures) and thirst for experimentation (not many hardcore bands use keyboards or violins...). You could almost say that Abhinanda transformed into a hardcore version of The hives with this record. In the middle of the record you get a nice tempobreaker in the form of Centipede. This track is a perfect confirmation that Abhinanda always was open for new musical roads and adventures. Built around a childlike melody the track made me think of the soundtrack of an old cartoon I saw as a toddler about a kid lost in the land of insects. Another climax of the album is La musica continua that starts off as a typical rockish track but ends into a beautiful epic ending with violins.
