Music for America's growing ADD

About Me

Jack Cody
Born Jack Codington Raymond Shafer and raised by aborigines, Jack is a startlingly well respected blues guitarist. Having spent years on the road playing various truck stops and lounge restaraunts, Jack has finally decided to join a band. His unique blend of delta blues and western balladeering have created the backbone to the Modern Gentlemen repertoire. Jack currently resides in Las Vegas with his record collection and younger sister.
Chris Grace
Chris's role in the band is undeniably vital. His musical expertise paints a harmonic landscape in which the audience is free to lose themselves. His origins are unknown, though they are rumoured to be on the verge of supernatural. One account provides a description of an immaculate conception and a childhood spent on the surface of the sun. Which would explain his x-ray vision.
Marcus Dayley
Often considered the "heartbeat" of the band, Marcus is a humble and towering figure in modern legend. He is perhaps most well known for his offbeat sense of humour and quiet dignity. His mild maneurisms are made up for by his spastic endeavors on the drums. Marcus has been known to play with one stick, no sticks, his face, and telepathy without ever losing the beat. Most Modern Gentlemen songs are inspired by his life and determination to achieve endless possibilties of happiness.
The Band
Modern Gentlemen is the musical lovechild of these three men. While they are often characterised as a mesh of modern psychedelia and retro-spective reflections of musical history, the deeper meanings behind their music is often as intriguing. The question is often asked, "What makes a modern gentlemen?" and though the answer is never quite clear, their songs attempt to bring forth an explanation. A common theme is the loss of innocence, and how painful it can be to witness someone go through such dramatic changes. However, the band's attitude tends to remain fairly optimistic, even among such dire circumstances. The dichotemy created by these ideas illustrates a dramatic movement for a modern sense of integrity among this generation of men. It can indeed be said that Modern Gentlemen are idealists, and while those ideals are often unconfirmed and even more contradicting, it is agreed that they stand by those ideals. Perhaps it is a sense of naive optimism that keeps them going, but either way... it rocks.
