I love the underground dance music scene - I currently play regularly for Amorphous, Reknaw, Unsound, Siren, Sound Systems, The Spike, Bogotrax and for www.wirlessfm.net internet radio.
But I have also played at more main stream clubs such as Rollercoaster @ Mass, Dogstar & The Fridge Brixton and supported acts such as Pendulum, Aphrodite & Prescison Cuts etc . I have played guest slots on Lifefm, Uk Rumble, Futuredrumz & NDR internet radio stations (USA) & used to play for Hyperfm pirate radio. I have played internationally such as the Robodok festival Holland, Sun and Bass Italy, Pars Club Russia, USA, Bosnia, France & Spain and hope to play as many places in the world as I can.
My Background:
I fell in love with the underground dance scene at a Spiral Tribe party in the Carnegie Library Deptford it was the closest thing I've ever had to a divine experience. And a life changing experience for me.
The whole modern dance scene revolution in the late 80's and 90's was mind blowing, it was a really exciting time. New forms of dance music were constantly evolving Hardcore, Techno, Acid house, Jungle, Happy Hardcore, Hardcore Acid, Drum and Bass, Gabba, Hip Hop to name but a few...
Sadly The Criminal Justice Bill was introduced... it had a huge impact on the underground party scene... it felt like an end of an era... but the music has kept on evolving.
Although I have found so many genres of dance music inspirational, it was around the time when Pulp Fiction was released that I really got into Drum and Bass...
The first place I started DJing out was in Goldsmiths Tavern (GMT), where my mate Bevin (Amorphous) with help from Simple and Smutley, ran a Drum and Bass night on Thursdays. It was an era I'll never forget, the GMT was a rich subculture of its own, the people who frequented it were those who had been rejected by society and those who had rejected it... It was almost Bohemian in its assortment of weirdo's, artists, punks, students, musicians, anarchists and junkies.
Bev had a flare for finding DJ's with a diversity of styles, every time you went you had a different experience. As far as I know after the first six months Bev didn't ever have to bother advertising Amorphous, the club had its own core followers and people who strayed in there by chance and came back for more. Some of the hightlights from my nights there were sets from Switch, and other resident DJ's such as Richie Razor, SLB (Naked Beatz), Smutley and Simple. Sadly the GMT was a victim of social cleansing and is now just another of the characterless winebars that are sprouting up all over London.
Later I became part of the Amorphous Posse promoting our own parties. I also used to play on Hyper FM pirate radio and with other underground soundsystems such as (Ministry of) Unsound, Siren, Troopers, First Friday, Rhythmic Resurrection, guest appearances on www.futuredrumz.com & Resonance 104.4 fm and now have my own show on Wirelessfm every Sat nite.
And I have also been Djing internationally, Russia, Holland, Italy, Bosnia, USA shouts to The Irrational Crew & New Detroit Radio, and ... RESPECT to all the Bogotrax Crew 'n all the wikked peeps I met out in Bogota Colombia.
I've also been making my own tunes for years, first serious attempts were for Fine Art Installations and Performances. Then I formed Drum and Bass band Sampleterrorist - playing Samples and Keyboards: best ever gig - was on the beach at a Megadog Festival in Cornwall, just before Dave the Drummer's set! Unfortunately we disbanded in 1999.
I did a years course in Music Production, Lewisham College in 2002- really enjoyed it, one of the best courses I've ever been on.
Still making tracks @ home including a soundtrack for videos (with Seed - above) and playing out dub plates that I've made with DJ Billy the Kid.
Now I have started mixing Grime and Dubstep and am producing some tracks, my aim is to get a Dubstep tune released (even on white label) this year.
That's about it just a big Thank You to all the people who have supported me!
WOULD PREFER NOT TO GET FRIEND REQUESTS FROM PEOPLE WHO JUST WANT TO BOOST THEIR FRIEND NUMBERS.. ONLY FROM PEOPLE WHO HAVE A GENUINE INTEREST IN WHAT I DO OR HAVE SOMETHING THAT MEANS THERE WILL BE MUTUAL RESPECT LIKE PRODUCE TUNES THAT YOU THINK I WILL LIKE OR VICE VERSA!
