TSI`NAAJINII: AKA The Bear People

About Me

STOP CULTURAL GENOCIDE!!!I always try to live from my experience, learning from my mistakes, taking with me the knowledge that I was blessed to learn from lifes lessons. In my experience, I have found the importance for Traditions, Culture, Language, and the Rights to live as such. It must be understood that the Native traditions that are continued to be taught today still have purpose as it did years ago, and that their was Native Peoples who fought and died to preserve those Traditional Native lessons. Many of the old Native Traditions have been sacrificed and many more peoples have been lost for generations because of it. Like for example: Many HATERS wonder why the Natives Peoples wear their hair so long and how can it can be tolerated for being so flowing all the time, "Are you hippies?". NO NAVAJO, BITCHES. In Today Society, its still about assimulations and not much had changed within the last hundred years in regards to Native ways of life and living. Any individual can experience why I am talking about, when your at a demonstration and the people mock any and all protestors for standing up for the continued preservation of culture rights and protection of those same Native traditions. I live in Cleveland, born and raised, a product of the RELOCATION PROGRAM, never expected to survive as a Native American Man. With the continued usuage of Native Mascots you can be sure to find that it holds much of the same traits: 1) De-powers Native America from it traditions and politics and allows Corporations, Franchises, and media to influence the Native Culture and Traditions, the same as you see done in pop culture. 2) Continues to distance communities and the relationships between communities and its members, Natives and Non-Natives. 3)Influences the way Native People see themselves. 4)Influences the way Non- Native see Native People. 5) Influences the way in which Natives see Non-Natives. 6)It damages community inside and out. The ignorance on such a topic is overwhelming the nation to a point that even the racist individuals themselves no longer know they are racist. People are under the assumtion that time is the cure for such examples of discrimination, and racial remarks....*(SOLUTION)*If such topics are given enough time, Native Traditions and practices will be done and over with, because its going to happen anyway, so why bother?* Sometimes you can even run across oppressed Natives and they don't know that they are oppressed. Thats when you know a stand needs to be made, to reclaim control and self define Native America in Native America. Any moron knows, If you can create a state of confusion then anything can be taken over and controlled. I say, Enough is Enough! That is why and how they want to take lands from all Native Peoples and remove the Native from the Native, to take our land, our food, our crafts, our honor, and our spirit. I am PRO-NATIVE TRADITIONS, because the road to exemptions stops here!!! I WILL NOT BE THE ONE WHO LOOSES HIS WAY FROM THE PEOPLE. That is who they want us to become, lost. NOT A NATIVE, BUT LESS OF ONE. I have made it my duty as a Native Man to help organize the community for the betterment of the Indigenous People everywhere. It is no longer the time to sit back and watch from a TV screen. Stand and let those Native voices be heard. This is the reasons why the Native people need to take back the culture and take hold of the power for ourselves and allow our roots to reconnect to our mother as it is practiced traditionally. Instead of letting the "cooperate white world" take control over all Indigenous culture and send it to a chop shop and sell its in pieces over the internet or at sports games. Can anyone really truely justify the continue useage of Native Mascots? +++++Question??? What roles have Native American filled and occupied through the history of Advertisements, politics, and the time of any War?

PEOPLE NOT MASCOTS!!!**STOP CULTURAL GENOCIDE!!!www. committee500years .com
.. Create Your OwnFrom the 1927 Grand Council of American Indians"The white people, who are trying to make us over into their image, they want us to be what they call "assimilated," bringing the Indians into the mainstream and destroying our own way of life and our own cultural patterns. They believe we should be contented like those whose concept of happiness is materialistic and greedy, which is very different from our way. We want freedom from the white man rather than to be intergrated. We don't want any part of the establishment, we want to be free to raise our children in our religion, in our ways, to be able to hunt and fish and live in peace. We don't want power, we don't want to be congressmen, or bankers....we want to be ourselves. We want to have our heritage, because we are the owners of this land and because we belong here. The white man says, there is freedom and justice for all. We have had "freedom and justice," and that is why we have been almost exterminated. We shall not forget this."++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++Unknow n Speaker addressing the National Congress of American Indians in the mid 1960's"In early days we were close to nature. We judged time, weather conditions, and many things by the elements--the good earth, the blue sky, the flying of geese, and the changing winds. We looked to these for guidance and answers. Our prayers and thanksgiving were said to the four winds--to the East, from whence the new day was born; to the South, which sent the warm breeze which gave a feeling of comfort; to the West, which ended the day and brought rest; and to the North, the Mother of winter whose sharp air awakened a time of preparation for the long days ahead. We lived by God's hand through nature and evaluated the changing winds to tell us or warn us of what was ahead. Today we are again evaluating the changing winds. May we be strong in spirit and equal to our Fathers of another day in reading the signs accurately and interpreting them wisely. May Wah-Kon-Tah, the Great Spirit, look down upon us, guide us, inspire us, and give us courage and wisdom. Above all, may He look down upon us and be pleased."++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++.. There is a way out of every dark mist, over a rainbow trail. -- Navajo SongHappily may I walk. May it be beautiful before me. May it be beautiful behind me. May it be beautiful below me. May it be beautiful above me. May it be beautiful all around me. In beauty it is finished. -- Navajo Night Chant
