The Freestyle Friday King... Shivy

Music is the art of thinking with sounds composer Jules Combarieu once quoted. That said, Hip Hop artist Shivy thinks a lot about his art. This incredibly talented, smooth 22-Year old has the look and sound of a future household name. In 2003 Shivy climbed yet another mountain in his quest and conquered it as he was retired as champion on the very popular BET television show 106 and Parks, Freestyle Friday segment. Impressive enough on the show that several deals were offered to him afterwards including one from Divine Mills (Warner Brothers) Kay Gee. The label features double platinum hip hop extraordinaire artist Jaheim, who was also quite impressed by this New Jersey native that now calls Atlanta home. There was also interest from several other labels and producers but at the time did not have proper management following up on his behalf. Fast forward to 2005 where we find that Shivy has signed a management deal with Eclipse Artist Management Group LLC, a Florida based company with a Nashville location as well. The Eclipse staff saw the talent and did not hesitate to offer professional and experienced management. Although BET continues to be a huge stepping stone for him, hes not one to rest on his laurels and has become quite the name and receiving a lot of attention in the ATL. His music can be described as extremely catchy, edgy and infectious that makes listeners turn it up and chime along with the hook. His lyrics tell a story that brings you into a mental movie that is right out of the streets of today. It cannot be classified as any particular regional style such as West Coast Swing or Southern or even Crunk. Its simply stated His. This former Ivy League student mixes a variety of sounds. Shivy is consistently thinking about his future as well as concerned about the futures of others that are much less fortunate. He knows what its like to struggle as he took the chance to be different by moving with just $200 and an older model vehicle from Jersey to Atlanta where he didnt have a name at yet and built his name in such a short span of time. He has vowed to be a good community server.
