About Me

Welcome to Esperanza’s official Myspace!
Wipe your feet before you come in, but stay as long as you want; we’ve got tea and cookies, and they’re fresh baked and full of skanking goodness!
Like a full bodied wine, Esperanza is bold, lively and exciting, offering a rounded finish that will please all tastes, and is sure to get the party started. Just like our waist lines, we’ve gradually been expanding since we started out as a 5 piece in 2005. Since then, there have been many changes in the line up, but we’ve settled for the moment with a nine man all star cast. We play a lively set which is a collection of our own energetic songs and an unusual mix of covers, collectively which will have you bouncing all the way to the bar.
Based in Glasgow, Esperanza has travelled far and wide, from Dunfermline to Dumfries and all sorts of exciting places in between. We’ve played with the likes of Bombskare, Big Hand, the Beat, Skaville UK, the Amphetameanies and the Skarsoles among others. We still haven’t figured out how to fit on some stages, (not referring to our waistlines again) but we’re getting there!
This summer, you can catch Esperanza at Glasgow's West End Festival or if you fancy digging out your wellies and midgy spray why not head down to the Wickerman Festival and join in the party there! Also this summer, Esperanza are proud to announce that they will be supporting such acts as Neville Staples, Bad Manners and Sonic Boom Six. Please see gig listings for further details.
If we weren't already too busy doing that we also have the intention of recording some of our own material at some point in the next few months. Though you can already buy our first E.P from us at any gig.
Anyway, watch this space as Esperanza will be carrying on full skank over the summer!
