The Skarsoles have been giging since 1999.Their first gig was in a local venue called Ricos (Greenock, just outside Glasgow. Where the band are currently based.)
They have played gigs all over Scotland including King Tuts(Glasgow) and at The Ferry(Glasgow). These gigs over the past seven years have included support slots along side the likes of two tone legends Bad Manners,The selector and The Beat.
The skarsoles are an 7-piece Ska band who are known for mixing a blend of two tone pop melodies with high energy rock n roll. The bands roots are found in mainly in the ska genre along with a bit of punk rock and reggae. The major influences on the band would be varied from bands like Madness and The Specials to Bob Marley.
Music and fun are what its all about for the band.
The band are currently putting the finishing touches to their 2nd self produced album Fast Food Nation which is set for release at the end of the year. Around this time The Skarsoles will be playing various promotional gigs and are planning to expand their reputation further a by doing a series of gigs south of the border.
Fast Food Nation, the bands 2nd release, is the follow up to their album Couch Potato Generation Blues. Their 1st album still sells steadily in independent record stores across Scotland.
If none of the above remotely interests you then youve just wasted 30 seconds of your life. If on the other hand, when it comes to having a good old skank you just cant help youself, then ckeck out The Skarsoles.
T Break Website 2005 "Ah...Skarsoles. Was this ever going to be bad? Such is the nature of Ska that I don't care who you are, I dare you to try and stand still when confronted with a dancing horn section, and grins the size of Buster Bloodvessels underpants. The crowd bounce, the band bounce, I bounce!"
Listen up for the occasional classic pop song sneaked in a set with a touch of 'sole! If nothing else the Skarsoles leave you will a little chuckle at the sheer cheek but be warned! The Skarsoles are certified with a PG rating. Thats PARENTAL GUIDANCE - please guide all parents to the door - they sooooooooooo dont want to hear this!

Influences: Originally steming from the Dons love of bands like Green Day, Bad Religion, Madness, Rancid and NoFx. The Skarsoles have evolved and progressed to take influence from other great ska bands such as the Slackers, Rx Bandits, Stubborn Allstars, Blue Meanies, etc and from almost every other genre. Every band member has a different ecclectic taste, all of which comes together in their music.
Sounds Like: Fun,
Danceable,
Goodtime music.
