Born 1980. My first musical memories are sitting in the Green Field in Glastonbury with a beat up old guitar 1983. I progressed to Boogie piano at the age of 7. I stupidly lost sight of piano when at 11 years my mum sat me infront of some footage of Hendrix playing Voodoo Child live at Berkeley. Realisation of Jimi's music hit me like a bolt of lightening. Guitar became my sole instrument & I've gone many stylistic directions from that moment. I'm always searching for music with that deep energy, that MOJO!!!! .........I moved from Abergavenny, Wales to South East London in 2000. Whilst studying a music degree at Goldsmiths University, I met keyboardist Finlay Crowther & singer Thimali Kodikara joining with them to form a band that became ASOKA. Ninja percussionist Gina Anantharajah then joined followed by drummer boy Rob Brundish and bass man Dan Hawkins............. The energy of the band is Rock but the style is informed by Soul, Funk, Jazz, Afro-Latin....whatever, all music has a fusion that so often belies words. Like Frank Zappa said, talking about music is like fishing about architecture. .......... I'm always looking to get out and do more jamming & recording. I have recently been playing guitar for R'n'B/Soul singer Afua who's got some great tunes..................... I have a FAT guitar rig and I'm a versatile player. Acoustic or Electric. Anybody wanna jam? Let me know. I'm setting up new projects with some great musicians but I want to hear about anybody who's got a funky and slick operation whatever the style may be. You can look to my friends list to get a get a taste of where my musical passion resides. Myspace really is a source of education & inspiration. Thank you for checking me out!
